After a few hours after the plane landed, we already situated ourselves to rest in the hotel (which was quite a shitlong walk away). Prior to this, we only had around 3 hours of sleep so imagine how tired we are, lol
It was now 3:30PM and we actually didn't have an itinerary until later 7PM when we'll meet a long-unseen cousin of mine. So my suggestion was to go to the Iluma mall in Bugis. (thanks to mekadon for the suggestion

)
We arrived there around 4PM and I was intently looking for something.
The mall was shitons big, but I listened intently for the sounds I want to hear.
So much walking, but this time it didn't matter to me. I was really focused on getting to it.
Later, I think I saw it.
I can hear the strobes of the bass drum from afar, as I see shiny lights coming from the same place. I approach nearer and nearer like a wild dragon that just got loose...
*walking*
*walking*
...Fuck.
...Fuck yes.
...FUCK YES

Actually there's actually 6 (8?) Taiko machines here. 2 Taiko 14's and 2 Taiko 11's and that other un-numbered Taiko AC version (I don't know what the hell it is). Of course the only thing I really need to touch here is Taiko 14, right?
I held the actual bachis in my hand and it almost feels like my hands have been blessed owo
No time to waste, this is an opportunity I cannot miss!
BuysCard,LoadsWith5SGD,RushesToTaikoMachine,InsertCreditsYey
4 songs for 1.5 SGD. I don't care how expensive or cheap it may be, I just wanna play @_@
First thing to do is to check the lower-right portion of the screen. Yep, looks like everything is unlocked. Time to hit the Taiko.
Proceeding all the way into Oni, I scanned over for some songs that might help me familiarize with the feeling of actually hitting these things...
oh god my excitement is killing me. What the shit...
And as I was playing a few familiar songs for my AC debut, I was pretty much swearing all over the place with these retorts:
"Oh god that input delay WTF" <--- it seriously took me a while to get used to the input delay.
"SHIT SHIT SHIT MY HAND OH GOD" <---- I was using my metal drumsticks on this first one, and I hit my left arm so hard...
"WHY THE FUCK DID IT MISS" <---- it's actually pretty hard to gauge where the hell the hit suface for the Katsu is...
"HOW THE FUCK DO YOU DRUMROLL"<---- I was trying that exploit that some players do where they hit with both sticks in some position and the game registers it as 7 to 11 hits quickly, which I can't seem to do lol.
And probably the comment I kept throwing around
"I'M FUCKING TIRED" <----- the truth that I have to keep up with, I guess.
Since there were 2 Taiko 14 machines, I went for 4 rounds, trying which drum was the best for me. The first drum I played was pretty OK, but it took qutie some force to hit so I switched. The second one I played had a faulty left-Katsu in that it can sometimes register a right-Katsu as well... wasn't helping that I was playing Koibumi that time (...no that's not a dirty comment). The third one was the worst in that the left-katsu needed to be literally bashed in order to register (whcih is odd because someone else was playing fine on it previously @_@). The fourth one however was extremely perfect, so I stuck to that. These 4 rounds of 4 songs were mainly to get me used to the actual controller. My hands are so happy right now, it's like it's in paradise...
But my arm's stamina finally got the best of me and I decided to take a break. I'll deal another round later.
...uh, no, scratch that.

POP'N MUSIC 17 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Time to handrape myself! YEAAAAAAAH
Unfortuantely for me this is also the first time I'm actually going to play on the actual PnM controller. But at least I'm confident enough to play on 9 buttons so it's good. The same routine I did with Taiko happened, only this time I only went 2 rounds. I felt more daring in the second round in that I tried to clear a 26-star (Chase! Chase! Chase! 9-Hyper) and failed miserably :/
Well, my hand hurts like hell since I don't know exactly how soft I should actually be pressing on the buttons.
So I decided to armrape myself again

Back to the Taiko machine I go!
Marking the drum that was perfect for me, I tried to do some stuff that I really wanted to do now.
I actually FC'd something in the first round, albeit at a really, REALLY bad accuracy (it's like I'm starting back from scratch in my Taiko life, wow...)
And if you think it was Saitama2000, then you're
WRONG; it was even a surprise to me as well.

I've never even heard this song before; I actually picked this out of accident as I was trying to switch songs but hit the don face instead. Pretty good song. Oh and before i forget the mention, the other machine's speakers were too amplified lol.
Look at that fail acc. I mean look at it. WTF.
Then another (bad acc) FC!

Although this time I don't entirely blame it on me; it's either the offset on this was late or was REALLY late for some reason. IDK, I may just be deaf or something, but I kept hitting whites due to me thinking the metronome was going earlier... wtf
I felt good this time so I went to be more daring and played Tenyou no Mai.
Oh shit I think I'm actually going to FC this...
*misses in the middle*
Oh well fuck.
Then later while I was switching songs after Tenyou no Mai, I accidentally hit don again instead of Katsu. I was like "oh OK, at least it'll be something new". But then I looked and I was like...
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOARGHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAa
Yep you heard me right, I accidentally picked Hatafucking2000.
"LOL I HAVE A DEATHWISH"
I still played it was best as I can. I seem to have attracted a small crowd playing it though (heh) as I approached 500 combo later (w00t!)
But then later, like a lightning strike landing on where I was standing...
"HOLY FUCKING SHIT MY ARM"
Yep, my arm kinda gave in and got really shaky as it became tired. I was trying my best to hit the streams now but my arm was kinda going too slow or too fast now... my god.
Wasn't able to screenshot how I scored. Not like I'm proud of it... I feel ashamed for my performance laetly actually... my acc. D:
Later, I checked again and saw my parents already came. I approached them and they said "Oh, we're just waiting for your cousin to message" , so more waiting will happen.
But as usual I asked "Oh? Then can I go back in there?" and my mom said "Sure" and I was like "OK, thanks mom", then quickly ran back in and shouted "HOLY FUCK YES"
I'm going to drown myself with as much Taiko and PnM as I can. I played 2 more Taiko rounds and 1 PnM round after. I tried out the other familiar songs now in Taiko, feeling more confident so I played things like IN THE ZONE, Senpuu (AC), Arumujika AC14.0 (sp?) , Kurenai, Punishment (which I somehow fucking regret as my arm is still kinda numb right now), and Hikari no Kanata He (which I ALMOST FC'd but like what happened in Hataraku, my arm gave up in the middle of the streams). For PnM, I tried to score as much as I can in the 9H's I'm familiar with, which most of them are from PnM 15 since PnM-PSP is pretty much the PnMCS15 equiavlent. Rin to Shite Saku Hana no Gotoku for the win~
I tried to input some more credits into the Taiko machine.
"No more credits left"
"...FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF"
Yep, I guess it was time to go.
I was walking farther and farther from that convent of shining lights...

I... don't think I'll ever get to experience this again. Almost 3 hours of paradise... Will I ever feel it again?
Miscellanoeous info:
------I wasn't able to try out this one:

It's a beatmania IIDX17 machine. I was too intimidated by how different it is from every other rhythm game I played so... I wasn't able to breathe in its air just yet.
------There was also a DJMT and DJMT2 machine there. You can see the DJMT machien from the PnM pic I posted above. The DJMT2 is much farther out from the inside of the arcade. This didn't matter to me since I wasn't able to get the hype of DJMT.
------Now I learned Singapore's signature rhythm game.
It's none other than Jubeat.
Seriously, I think there were at least 1782469231765737564 Jubeat machines there and people were actually still lining up to use them. These guys (and girls) seem to know a crapload lot of how to play this, so I also didn't get to try this one out since there were too many pros hanging around the place (lol)
------Actually somewhere in between the Taiko and PnM sessions, I denied a total of 3 players from playing Marvel vs. Capcom 2 as I sat there for a while using my glitch-abusing team (Magneto-Storm-Tron) which is insanely broken on normal damage rating which the machine was fortunately was. Left the machine after I found that I'm wasting my hands instead of using them for PnM (lol)
------As I walk away, I realized one thing...
"I FORGOT TO TRY OUT AN URA!"
"FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF"
When will I be in such a paradise again, I wonder...
