Problem details:
I downloaded Shiori vs Hitorigoto beatmap. And unpacked it using osu client, but when I hover on it. The storyboard doesn't change. Instead, it remains the same as the last map hovered. When I try to play the map, the screen starts to lag and has this buffering circle that never goes away. I have seen others download and play this map so I was wondering how I could fix this?

Video or screenshot showing the problem:
Before "playing the map", the storyboard belongs to another song.
Upon "playing" the map.

It has a buffering circle but doesnt go away.

Also, every time I open up osu, it always says that there are errors processing my songs and I need to press F5 (every single freaking time).
osu! version: Stable 20181221.4 (latest)

try redownloading the map and see if it changes anything

I have tried deleting the map and then downloading it. Nothing changes. It still glitches like b4.

Looks like something's wrong with your beatmap database file.

Give these steps a try:
  1. Close osu!
  2. Navigate to your osu! folder (Right click on the osu! app and go to "Contents > Resources > drive_c > osu!")
  3. Move the "osu!.db" file outside of the folder (make sure you can see file extensions otherwise there are three files simpley named "osu!" which is super confusing)
  4. Start the game and head to the song selection screen.
Once you are on song select again you should see all of your maps reprocess, that means you removed the correct file.

Do I move osu!.db file right outside of "osu!" folder or someplace else? I see that the "osu!.db" is a exec. There are also other "db" type objects. Let me attach an image

Do I move all db type files out of the folder?

Just the one that you have selected in the picture, "osu!.db". The other ones can remain in the folder.

You can move it anywhere on your computer as long as it is no longer inside your osu! folder. You could technically delete it if you want, but I recommend keeping it for a while just because it doesn't hurt to do so.

It does not work.

Your maps don't reprocess or you still can't play that specific map?

My client doesn't show anything about reprocess but I think that's fine since the only problem I am having is that specific map. I have seen others playing the exact map on youtube and even linking it in the description.

TL;DR:
I still can't play that specific map (Shiori vs Hitorigoto).

If you removed the correct file then your maps should have reprocessed. I understand the issue is with that specific map but my suggestion was not made as a completely random guess.

Was your game closed when you removed the file? Please make sure you do that first, or, if you still have the game open, it would require a restart (not sure how good of an idea it is to remove the file with the game still open though).

I did what you said. There seems to be no prompt to reprocess files or any prompts that show that there are errors in the beatmap folder.

When I click on Shiori vs Hi..., it still behaves the same way.

I did close the game when I removed the file.

I still cannot play the map. But all else seems fine

There won't be any prompts that ask you to reprocess. It should just reprocess everything automatically before you get to the song selection screen. It should not be possible to get to that screen without that file in your osu! folder.

Ok, the beatmap process thing worked. But I still cannot play that map. Maybe it is a bugged map? The beatmap storyboard showed at one point, but I do not know what caused it. Whenever I click to play, it just becomes a crazy laggy client with a spinning circle.

Does it still have the incorrect background and everything after reprocessing all of your maps too?

Yes. Sorry for replying late, I could not connect to the internet.

Apparently deleting the background for this map should get it to work... Why don't you try that. Find the beatmap folder in your osu!\Songs folder and just remove the background file.

No that does not happen anymore. I just tried that. It worked!

This is happening to me now and it's so frustrating. Do I just need to delete the background or would I need to do other stuff?
(I already deleted the .db file and it is still happening)

The cause of your issue is probably different. Try using the default skin. If you are still having issues, make a new thread please.
