I kinda wanted to reply sort of like BD did...

It's a bit like "You signed up, now shut it and enjoy the game" which is a bit... Contradictory, I guess?
Even if I did enjoy myself as a spectator the owc and think it is a great idea to implement a world cup into osu!, it's too bad so many things went wrong. Maybe the teams should've had free choice on ranked/approved maps? I don't know... After all I didn't organize this nor did I play.

I'm now afraid that if there's another owc project, we won't be able to gather people since they'll be disgusted...

However eddieee pushed it too far, yes. This kind of behavior really saddens me.


But other than that, good luck for the finalists. I won't be here for the finals so I hope everything goes well.

You guys are really taking this too seriously.

I'm sorry if you don't like the maps we chose, but we can't please everybody. There will always be people who don't like them, but taking this THAT far? :|

@BD: Yes, this is a competition to see who's better at osu!, but this is also for fun, keep that in mind please. The fact that there's one map that hasn't been FC'd by too many people doesn't mean the match doesn't have to be fun and interesting to see, and come on, it's only one map... :/

The maps ARE incredibly bad. We know the players are pro enough to pass them since they're on the finals, but what the fuck? Some maps have been FC'd by ONE SINGLE PERSON (astrosexy) and you put them? This is a competition to see who is better at osu!, not who survives the longest time in a map.

eddie's behavior was a bit wrong, since he was exaggerated and stuff, but hes pretty much right. I am sorry Lunah, but this is just ridiculous.

We bitch on everything though, no need to feel offended. We just put things a little more... in our way. Also you and the owc staff have never been directly offended, you just saw the conversation. And what's up with these warnings? I never received one but you just said I did.

Astrosexy was fc'd for the first time after you posted the maplist. The stream compilation has also been fc'd only once.

as I said, we are avaible to hear complains, but there is way and way of talk, surely we'll not listen a guy that complains in a rude way insulting as your playes did.

You're too worried about FC'ing things. None of the hardest maps you've played until now in any of the matches have been FC'd by a whole team. The maps are passable and challenging, I think it's fine.

I honestly don't see why you would ban someone for such talk, especially right before the finale. It's fairly simple really...by making the decision to ban eddie for his insults (and I agree that he should not have said that in OWC chat...but seriously, what harm does it bring any of you?), you basically made the finale impossible.

The only thing you reach by banning Eddie from #dutch at the moment is an even bigger failed OWC than it already was. I have not been around to witness how it actually all went down, as this would've been the first match I played for #dutch (after I got informed that Eddie was banned) but yeah...this only makes it even worse. With Lesjuh saying he's fed up right now (which is understandable), one member banned for 'bad behavior', it's pretty much over isn't it?

Wouldn't it be better right now to leave things between Eddie on the sideline, just let the guy play, and have a better organisation for the next OWC? Saying someone can't be unbanned is really a ludicrous argument, as there are no 'set rules' for a vocal ban are there? It's not like he's a terrorist with records that can't be deleted or undone...seriously.

Just my two cents..

EDIT : Is awesome see how this cup got destroyed, how a part of the community can destroy a funny tournament .. you MUST say thanks to staff if you are playing/watching this world cup, instead of complain, they are giving a lot of time for you, for make you play/watch

I have to disagree here. Ppl have different ways to see who is better, and just survive in a hard map is one of these ways as much as do high scores by FC songs (the way you probably think)

Talking for me, That's the best way to judge who is better. if the ppl can't even pass a beatmap only that guy FC'ed, then finish that cup and give the prize for him.

I would really like to see either a chat log or a properly constructed list of arguments of the staff members as to why they believe it was correct to ban Eddieee right before the finals. As to me the consequences of this decision outweigh the arguments I can come up with for banning (which is being disrespectful) by far...

Why lock the thread? You simply decided just now to blow off the entire OWC? This is getting better and better...

It doesn't really matter when does this happen. Being in the finals isn't a reason to let it pass.

Being disrespectful is a bannable offense, as you can see here and here.

eddieee pushed it to the extreme, that's why I said yes when I was talking with Lunah about banning him.

What I was pointing out was the fact that, let's be honest, this OWC hasn't quite been 'a success' in general. Banning someone for this offence simply makes the situation worse, and as we can all see, resulted in the finals pretty much not happening at all. All I'm saying is that I believe an exception is in place for the reason I stated before...the consequences outweigh the arguments by far.

Just because this is the finals doesn't mean that anyone is exempt from the rules. I may not agree with how Lunah was running this, but that doesn't justify the insults/attacks on him. This tournament is far from over, and won't be ended because of a few immature players.

The rest of the staff and I will be taking over this tournament and will give more details as soon as possible. But for now, the thread remains locked since no one knows how to be mature.

I'd like to congratulate Team Taiwan once again for their first place victory! Nice job to 2nd place (Team Netherlands) and 3rd place (Team Korea) as well! In fact, great job to everyone that played! Prizes will be given out very soon, so don't worry about not getting them.

Also, a huge thanks to those who managed this tournament and made it possible. You guys did a great job. Sure, there was a vocal minority criticizing the organizers, but I'd like to think a majority of players, like me, were excited to see the best from each country come together and face off against each other. I hope to see another OWC coming up soon!
