Apparently, you can only have three slider speeds in a map. I was wondering why this rule existed, since I have no idea why such a rule would exist when some maps might benefit from having more slider speeds. o_o

The rule is almost obsoleted in osu! standard maps, never applied in Taiko maps, as I know.
It is not a rule
It is currently a guideline, you are allowed to have 3+ slider speeds in a map (which several ranked maps do) as long as they flow correctly and naturally in the map and will not throw any of the players off when they are going through it
There is an ongoing conversation happening about this at the moment but hopefully some things can be rewritten about this guideline later on to make it slightly clearer
