Sixth form study centre computers and most of the teacher computers have decent Pentium/Athlon branded dual cores on a 65 or 45 nm fabrication.
I'm hoping next upgrade cycle our relatively new System Administrator is going to keep to his word and break away from the tradition that the old admin set of "cheapest computers = best buy". Such a false economy. We need Core i3 at least, damn it. The way things are looking finance-wise we'll probably end up with 2 MB cache Pentium (Core 2 Duo based) chips unless they're discontinued soon.
