BPM is neccessary to be known for some rapid stream i think :)

+1, frequently nping for listings or asking host for bpm

It's a useful addition, but I don't really know how you can't just have a feel for the bpm by listening.
Unless, you mean to show the bpm before download... why not just download everything?

+1 not for reasons the op listed, but just because it's useful
you could also display it for when a person enters a room and a game is going on so they know how long to wait or w/e

+1, seems like it could be usefull :)

Because the BPM that osu lists is SO useful, right?

I wouldn't mind taking it a step further and getting a bpm range for multiple bpms in a song (ie 180-250).

How would this address multi-BPM songs?

Then again how does osu! address multi-BPM songs in general? Not with the appropriate granularity, that would be textual diarrhea in some cases

eh, the bpm thing wouldn't be useful

maybe if this game was like audition and all songs had a near-constant bpm

I mean get bpm in the game, but also get the range in both the song page and in the game.

After all, anything with multiple BPMs ruins the usefulness of this.

well something like that would show 25-200 BPM, which shows you it's incredibly varied, and would obviously be mostly useless.
A song which has an unstable bpm/has ritards would be like 188-200.

coupled with the music, you can at least put an average BPM to the song.

for me, I know 240 BPM is absolutely ridiculous, 180 is doable, etc... Though I usually just go off the music.

Its still nice to know the length.
