It's not like you cant stay in contact with your old family if you move, and going to the better financial situation is just the smart thing to do. I'd be a lot better able to pursue my own goals and focus on myself with a solid financial situation. That may sound selfish, but I think if your poor family loved you they would understand that and want what's best for you.
But then again, if I didnt have a plan to improve myself and use the financial situation to my advantage in a way that wasnt just "mooch off these guys" - then fuck no. I cant advocate for that. That's just wrong.
So, yeah. Personally I would probably choose the other family because I could work on improving my life and myself more. Just focus on keeping in contact with my poor family and making sure those ties aren't severed because that is something that's important. And itd be nice to learn about the family I didnt know I had.
