i absolutely love this skin. i have a suggestion though. maybe for the big notes, you could change the color of the notes?
you can try to make the "TaikoMania" style "stepmania"?

This skin is amazing. Its a simple concept made amazingly well. Good job.

I played with this a bit, and it's good for easier maps, but eventually you start getting into more difficult maps that involve patterns that require you to alternate on (for example 3 of the same notes in a row). I think it would be cool if there was a way to turn the taiko notes into 4, instead of just 2. This way it would alternate on each note and it would be much easier to read / play. Just a thought.
