I compare every Sonic game I play to Sonic Adventure 2. I figure if they could do it back then, why can't they do it now?

So anyway, I'm at chapter 7 of Dead Space now and this game is really getting to me. The first three chapters weren't so scary for me, but the game's gotten pretty good at catching me off-guard recently. It got me really good four times today. Every time I think I know this game's pattern, they change it.

Played the Scott Pilgrim demo. Fun game, very RCR-esque. I'd like to see more level design than "go right, beat guys up" but demos usually only give you the absolute basics. Still, I enjoyed what was there.

DeathSpank 2, motherfuckers! DeathSpank 1 may have come out in July, but it's getting a sequel on September 21st anyway. They're going from swords and orcs to guns and aliens, baby. Can't wait for that game.

Hey awp, if you liked Scott Pilgrim, try the Shank demo. It's way more kickass. The soundtrack isn't as good, but the combat's more fun and interesting. I've played it 4 times already. That guy is pretty brutal.

Anyway, I loved Castle Crashers on the XBawks, a really great game with nice content and I'm glad it's finally coming to the PS3. Hopefully they are going to add more trophies and include the DLC.

Is it bad that I actually prefer Scott Pilgrim to Shank, even just judging by the demo? Maybe I'm just more into classic beat-'em-ups.

Oh shit, guys! Check out Costume Quest. It's an adventure game/turn-based RPG with a battle system similar to the Mario & Luigi series. It's a Tim Schafer game, too, more or less. It's Halloween themed, so when you enter a battle, you turn into a giant version of whatever costume you're wearing and it looks pretty cool for a PSN game.

I'm playing the game who's main character is in the avatar of the poster above me.

And wow, it's really fun. Just that I wished I checked PROPERLY that there isn't a need to get DLCs to achieve that 100% decorations...

There's a game coming out for PSN that's essentially 8-bit GTA/TMNT1/Contra/Super Mario/Zelda/Bionic Commando/River City Ransom/Metal Gear/etc

looks a little crazy. Can't remember the title.

Sonic Adventure's coming out on PSN either today or tomorrow. It's got trophies, too, but good luck getting 130 emblems. I guess it's easier than getting all the emblems on SA2 though.

Edit: Might just be for XBLA actually, but I read something that said it'd be on PSN, too, but we'll see.

I just saw that trailer today. I'm really interested in it. It looks like Dead Space + RE5 + a badass Spanish guy. They also released a DMC trailer. Dante doesn't have his awesome grey hair anymore though.

Edit: Oh, and I was a week off with Sonic Adventure.

Ok, dropping some more news.

In the third-person shooter, NeverDead, you play as this immortal guy who can rip his limbs off at will and use them while they're detatched and shit. So you can shoot with your detatched limb, but you just can't aim it. And you can throw your limbs to distract animals so you can kill them and stuff. Pretty hilarious concept, but the controls look like they might suck. Oh, and you're stuck with this mortal chick who makes you lose if she dies. There's co-op, but player 2 has to play as the killable chick.

Mass Effect 2 is coming to the PS3 in January. No plans for Mass Effect 1 for PS3, but we might get the DLC for ME2.

And Portal 2's coming out on February 9th.

The Last Guardian's supposed to come out Holiday 2011 and there's a new trailer. Ico/Shadow Collection is supposed to be in Spring 2011.

Oh, and awp, is that game you were talking about called Retro City Rampage?

I'm failing to see why people were whining so much about FFXIII.
It's still a bunch of annoying characters running around whining about this and that while running in to a battle every few seconds, occasionally giving you something actually challenging.
It's just in a straighter line now.

Also Scott Pilgrim game is awesome since it allows me to use my PS3 profile in multiplayer.

How did I not know you can make full custom themes and not just wallpapers for the PS3? I'm trying to put together an Ouendan theme but can't figure out how to convert sound files to the .vag format required for a theme and what they should be called. Also, .vag is the worst file extension name ever.

Got my hands of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. Loved it so far, I was a little disappointed at first. Don't forget to turn on the damage numbers. The fights is similar to God of War but you feel you are more in control, you can buy more move/combos with exp. It does not feel much like Castlevania. I especially loved the menus/traveler book.

Hooray for Sonic 4. As fanservice-y and cut-and-paste it is from sonic 1, I'm still loving it. Already chewed through all the challenge trophies and got familiar with Super Sonic. Glad it turned out well, despite some minor grievances (the rings still drop heavily when taking damage which is not nearly as awesome as seeing them get flung everywhere)

Damn, Costume Quest was pretty awesome. A lot of the dialogue was pretty hilarious and the battle system was fun enough. Pretty short game for $15 though; I beat it in a sitting. Some of the costumes are pretty kickass though. Holy shit, the Pumpkin costume is so fucking badass. It's like Jack Skellington as the Pumpkin King on steroids.

Also, Kirby's Epic Yarn is so great.

Just got DJ Hero 2, and Wow, they really upped the ante on that game. The new features and gameplay tweaks really make a difference.

Is it really that easy? Everyone says that it's not that hard to get, but can Titan mode really be that easy? I've never been able to beat a God of War game on the hardest difficulty.

Titan Mode in God of War III is just God Mode in God of War II.

And seriously, it's waaay easier than the other God of War series. No death-obstacles, no mind-wrecking puzzles. Most difficult opposition was NOT the final boss.

The biggest probably I always had with the hardest difficulty for the first two games was the first boss (Hydra/Statue). I think I was able to beat the Hydra after a ton of fucking tries, but that was also four years ago or so. And I tried beating the statue, but he was even harder and I said fuck it. Like, I'm really not that great at God of War. I hate the dodge roll, so I don't do it a lot. I just mostly do the square, square, triangle move and the L1 + square moves over and over again.

Yeah, currently going through Valkryia Chronicles 2. Getting pissed off at the fact that almost the whole game was nerfed since they put it on psp. Only real new thing is the class change system, but that's not worth a less beautiful game that keeps using the same maps.

Well, the hardest for me was the second visit to the Underworld just after getting Pandora back. Cerberus and those whatever-they-are-called are not funny at all. But once again, I was playing for the trophies, so I was on Titan mode, not Chaos mode. For now that game's with another friend of mine, so Chaos mode's gotta wait.

I think the dude behind vc said he wanted to do something revolutionary for vc when they release again on ps3, and I guess their plans for vc3 weren't up to that. Plus it's probably hella cheap to make a psp game and probably brings in hella profits for the time/money investment.

Got a chance to dig into Resonance of Fate recently; the story is shit and I don't see any sense of real character development. However, the battle system is amazingly complex for a standard JRPG. Not to mention being able to pull off hero actions is extremely badass. It's not as hard as I expected, since I haven't died once. Might be luck, might be the fact that I'm extremely cautious when playing, but it's not as hard as I thought it would be.

Also, VC3 is PSP-exclusive? What the shit. VC2 was alright, but it needs to be on the PS3 to be able to handle much larger conflicts.

Got a chance to dig into Resonance of Fate recently; the story is shit and I don't see any sense of real character development. However, the battle system is amazingly complex for a standard JRPG. Not to mention being able to pull off hero actions is extremely badass. It's not as hard as I expected, since I haven't died once. Might be luck, might be the fact that I'm extremely cautious when playing, but it's not as hard as I thought it would be.
It's not really a hard game if you know what you're doing. And if you had troubles you could grind away all your troubles if you're that kind of player. I beat my first runthrough at around level 70, then for Hard mode (1.2x stats on enemies), I finished it at around level 40.

Though, I really liked the story and the character development overall. It's very shallow at the beginning, but the whole story is pretty much about the three main characters, with a little emphasis on the cardinals as well. The dungeon conversations between the three while doing story missions are really great. I also found the world itself to be very immersive; much more than most other games I've played.

This is starting to sound pretty gay so I'm going to stop now, but I wonder if your opinions will change as you get closer to beating the game.

They quite possibly will, but then again, I've only had about 10 hours with the game at this point.

You were into energy weapons, right? Cause that game has some really fucking sweet ones. And the Gauss Rifle is back and it's fucking powerful. But dude...there's 8 followers and not a single one of them is half as good as Clover was. Cass might be the closest, but she's southern and if you're evil, she leaves you if you keep talking to her. There are only 2 followers I haven't met, but I doubt they'll be as cool as Clover.

Also I haven't played a dungeon crawler since Izuna: The Unemployed Ninja, which I kind of fell out of before completing, but something like NIS will keep me glued

You're killing me man. I want my Clover back. Yeah, I was way into energy weapons, but I planned on doing a gimmick run with just boxing gloves or unarmed first. Might put it off for a second playthrough once I actually understand the game, though...

Tell me if you find a better female follower because that will force me to play the game sooner than later.

Been playing Valkyria Chornicles since I never actually got around to finishing it and playing Killzone 2 multiplayer.
Man...Killzone 2's multiplayer sucks balls at higher levels.

There's only 3 female followers, and one of them is a Super Mutant grandmother. Aside from Cass, there's Veronica, and she's a scribe or something. I haven't met her yet, so I don't know if she's a bitch. If Cass didn't hate that you were mean, I'd really like her. She's a bitch in the best way possible, she loves to drink whiskey, and she always wears a cowboy hat. Then there's a gay scientist, a ghoul I haven't met, an eyebot, an asshole, and Rex, the awesome robo-dog. Rex would be more awesome if he wasn't so frustrating.

Anyway, I was complaining a bunch because they took out the Combat Shotgun in this game, but HO-LY CRAP. I just got the Riot Shotgun and wow. It's a semi-automatic shotgun with 12 rounds per clip and it can fire heeella fast (for a shotgun) and it's got one of the highest DPSs for a shotgun in the game, too. Crazy.

Seibei: Veronica is pretty good as she has an awesome power fist and wields it with over 100 unarmed skill. The only problem is that she wants to take away all your cool toys.

Dude, I don't care about shit like that. Clover could be the weakest follower in Fallout 3 and she'd still be the absolute best. I just care if Veronica is awesome.

Ok, so I finally met Veronica, and she's definitely the coolest female follower in this game.

Edit: And holy shit, she's a portable workbench!

Just finished getting the last trophy for The Sly Collection and I unlocked the Sly 4 teaser fair and square. Man, those graphics sure have improved. I hope it's a real teaser and not just something they made for giggles. Also, they've started to release the original Prince of Persia trilogy on the PSN with trophies.
