Again, it's ridiculous, there are many other ways to do things from the way you guys are. It's not really an osu! vent anymore, it's a vent that's just the same as the one we used to have.

the problem was there was a person who was being extremely annoying but used proxies as stated before

it is still the osu vent and is still open to all osu members PROVIDED they follow the rules

Sigh. 'scuse me, responsible admin coming through.

Let me make the biggest issue here clear. The Vent channel is set to Invite Only! for a period of time because banning a person in any way shape and form has not gotten the hint across, as he continued to connect and ping spam the channel with bots. This was mostly my call because, to be quite honest, there was really no other option at this point. It's just like IRC when we have to turn !system irc disable.

This one is strictly for osu! only. The last vent server we had was used by 5-10 different games. How is this the same as the last one?


Also Tode, why are you getting so worked up over Xanek getting admin? That being said, ztrot, it would be nice if we could discuss next time before getting different admins to prevent this and future problems.

Ok lets get something straight here. No one but tode or remmy has ever banned me off of ventrilo. No one has ever asked me to leave. The only reason tode banned me because I wouldnt put up with her bullshit like everyone else does. Just a prime example of what she did to xaneks admin. Oh I got admin and I dont think you should have it so im taking. Yeah thats really mature. Just goes to show you its nothing but immature adults with admin on there. People should serious learn to talk to people insted of omg I have a ban button lets use it for the lulz and hide in a pass-worded channel because I can when they have issues with each other. And seriously its a password. Do you honestly think if someone wanted on there they could get by it. Come on guys use common sense you wanna stop people from joining ventrilo you set it to stop guest accounts and only registered people can get on. I tried helping you guys many of times fix issues on vent but you decided to rage about it all thinking you knew everything.

I banned you for the same reason we're making the vent private and we "hid" in passworded channels: because you are extremely annoying. Unless there's another reason.

and xanek has his admin back, I was having not a good time and took out my anger on him, which I have apologized to him for.

Aye, i don't know how well known you are with ventrilo access but i have set up a lot of ventrilo servers before.

Basicly there is a shit load of server/channel/user options you can set. You can stop people from being able to broadcast out/in , you can silence channel TTS and there is a shit load of options. This is what i meant with there are a lot more flexible ways to handle this situation.

I could help if you want to set up the server from people spamming it etc, so the channel doesn't have to be password/user protected, cause honestly to me, in such a large free community, it is dumb to have it user/password protected like that :/

Can you maybe shut the hell up instead of sitting here asking silly questions?? I've already said several times that there are more flexible ways of handling this.

Banning someone that uses a proxy is retarded because everyone knows you can return easily, this is why there are other WORK AROUNDS for people who use proxys. No ofcourse it won't stop him from entering the server, you will still see his name there, but he won't be doing anything then just sitting in the channel doing nothing, not moving, not speaking, not anything. If you can't stand his name, then i suggest you look away from the ventrilo screen.

Also, half of the current admins that i read on the other page should be removed. You should only have admin powers if you are A. a person with authority or B. a person that knows how to navigate in ventrilo i.e knows how to stop people from abusing TTS's, channel spamming, and has some fkn common sense.

First of all why the hell are you getting mad?
Second- We do have common sense, so fuck off.
Third-You really can't decide who gets chosen to be admins on the ventrilo server
Finally, those things you listed are easy to block, and those work arounds still wont stop his proxies from spamming so there is not much use for work arounds.
You can suggest things to make it less annoying but if it doesn't stop proxies or botnets then don't suggest solutions that doesn't stop it.

Xanek you are just a thick one aren't you. You have no idea of what the solutions i'm speaking of works like, so maybe you should shut your mouth. If you knew how to navigate vent properly you would understand yourself that things like these are not too hard to bypass if you can look by it. It WILL stop people in a way or another, while making it easier for other people to enter ventrilo. But uh, i can't be fucked explaining it to you seeing as you are not even reading what i have to say.

I haven't said that i'm the one who decides who gets to be an admin or not, i mentioned what an admin should be like. Besides, you and a few other people are not in NEED of admin at all. Maybe if you would have been someone who had been around in osu! for a few years that everyone knows about, but unfortuanetley some of you aren't.

You can sit here bitch and moan all you want about how "unfair" i am being, i couldn't care less. This is my opinion on how to manage and run a proper community vent.

As I said, the "bot thing" just now was a mistake due to me not handling my mood very well and I've already apologized for it to Xanek who himself has accepted my apology. Yet again you must not be able to read I said when you banned me off the server for having a music bot. Did not say anything about xanek and please point out to me how just saying what everyone knows is true on the forum is being immature. And please I could care less about coming on vent. If I wanted to go hang with people I can go onto a number of ventrilo or teamspeak servers. Only real reason I ever got on was to talk to Rl and xanek.

I have this master plan where ztrot just removes everyone's power and let's people wine, rage, and strike for a week or two and then everyone comes back on vent after giving up and stopped caring. Then we wouldn't have this retarded drama and only god's word could be rule.

Is it just me or does someone set up ventrilo even more stupid ever other time I get on. I get on yesterday its fine where Gabi fixed it all. Now I get on everyone is hidden to unregistered users. What the hell is the point in that. Honestly Ztrot there is no reason for everyone and their mom to have admin on that vent. Your just gonna keep having issues like that untill you put your foot down. And whats funny is the same group of people are on when something idiotic happens to vent.

If you aren't sure who's admin or not, right click on ventrilo > view > server browser > click osu! (or the server name) > click details.

Users with A next to them are admins, users with P are phantoms (don't ask) and users with nothing are just normal users/guests

You have to go into server browser to see admins. They're not displayed in the actual vent window.

The "A" for admins or whatever must be a setting because I've never seen them.

You can change the Foreground and Background color

go into Setup > Misc > Foreground/Background. Change to whatever you like, and make sure you check the box Override windows colors.

Seems like a rather bold statement from someone who apparently cannot use a keyboard. I don't know how you could come to any public community expecting everyone to be technologically literate, though, so there shouldn't even be a mention of "surprise." Besides, Gladi did not make it clear we were talking about the user list rather than the browser which is probably where someone listening to him would first look and "knowing how to use a program" is a lot different than knowing all of the features of a program. I'm glad you know how to use Ventrilo as a program and your little script kiddy program you found on a top google (public-hurf-durf) hacker forums on it, but try not to pull stuff like this out of your ass.
