Is there a way to just disable the update checker in the code of osu!record? Or to disable the osu! autoupdater in general might help, if that is possible. Might be not a full solution, but it would do for the time beingDarkimmortal wrote:

So it seems osu will eventually start, but it is infeasible to wait for the updater to loop some 10+ times redownloading all osu exe/dll files before it works

Hello. I recently dicovered this service and as I was using it yesterday I saw a video of someone playing "supercell - Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari". I watched the video and I liked the song so I decided to download it. Meanwhile I tried to look that video on youtube but it has gone private so I quit it. Today I played it and decided to upload it. I notice that osu!record tries to skip login by advancing to song selection with clicks of circles.
Uh yeah, sometimes the cursor isn't on the osu! logo when it does that so the output is just 5 minutes of the main menu.

The recorder self states that there is nothing wrong.
But the osu! player states that you don't have the correct beatmap for this replay.
I tried it 2 times with the same beatmap, with the same results so it is a recurring problem.
Other people also seem to have the problem.

Not a hardware/hosting issue, just the fact that osu has changed how it updates yet again and I need to get round to updating my code and/or Wine config to compensate
Edit: Have investigated briefly, seems a lot of work is needed. Windowed mode is no longer an actual window but some weird noborder style thing and the -repair updater which osurecord has used to launch osu for a long time now won't connect at all

Good luck repairing, the website never got my beatmaps to work for some reason, it would just record the home screen? But since other people have been using it successfully, I decided to give it another chance but it is down now.

Well it seems we are a bit further on, osu is actually running correctly again on the server. I'll try to find a moment sometime over the next week to tidy up all the osurecord side of things so that it works with the new osu

Efforts hindered slightly by the fact that a certain individual (identified by the fact they fired up bitcoin miners with an identical username...) took it upon themselves to hack the server and delete the entire cache of beatmaps that it used among other malicious damage
