...I'm actually not sure how long this was already happening, but I just found it odd why we're restricted to download maps from the graveyard...

Of course there's probably a good reason for this, and I'd like to know it though... specially since there's one map in the graveyard I accidentally deleted from my computer and I don't want it revived just for the sake of downloading it :/

I'm not sure this is normal. It seems more like a relic of the beatmap disabling from before.

If that's true, then consider this post as some sort of report then...

...it's occurring to many users as well though.

What I'm guessing it is is that with 350,000 users, it costs a lot to keep the site running. To save money, conserve bandwith, and a bunch of other stuff, peppy probably made only ranked/pending maps downloadable~.

I think the same. We have almost around 2000 players everyday on osu!, I guess the server is kinda overloaded or something, this download disable it's totally understandable imo (if that's the reason, which I don't know)...

At the very least mappers should be able to download their own maps in case they deleted it and want to work on it before they ask for a revival of the map.

If this is not the way it currently works, I recommend you make a Change Request post in Feature Requests. The whole "you can't download graved maps" is not a bug; it was in fact intentionally implemented, but I'm guessing certain plausible scenarios such as the above listed were overlooked.

I saw peppy mention that he's gonna start removing the older graved maps.

You can still download your own graveyarded maps. I believe we are going to do a temporary workaround for the most requested graveyarded maps, but I intend to leave the majority inaccessible for the near future. It does in turn mean I can keep ranked/pending maps available at generous levels.

Beatmap Morgue?
Unranked Highlights?
Delete nuked maps after 6 months in the graveyard?

All of these should alleviate the stress substantially.
Lunah_old
:[[[ so all graveryard maps going to delete?
lepidopodus
Understandable, but lots of good taiko maps are graveyarded. Pity...

By 'old' meaning there hasn't been any replies to the beatmap topic in 6 months?

Because if that's the case at least we could keep bumping the 'active' graveyarded maps to avoid it being marked for deletion...

The ones I won't be able to rank in the near future I have to put in the graveyard. Where else can I put them?

See, even the devout Taikontributor (...) went out of his way to post here :3

If a six old map gets deleted and you still want to try getting it ranked, just re-upload it. Besides, any stars it got 6+ months ago would probably not be a good representation of the map's quality today.

And what about multi ?
If someone want to play a graveyared map, all the others players are ... quite confused I think ...

Right, this can be a huge blow to authentic taiko players, we can't keep ALL unranked Taiko no Tatsujin maps in pending all the time.

Several beatmap packs for Taiko no Tatsujin songs maybe, updated once every couple of months or so?
peppy
I suggest for the time being you gather together in here to organise the creation of packs or alternatives.

edit: for the time being I have allowed 1 graveyard map download per 10 minutes.
Lunah_old
so someone can make some packets with best graveyard maps?
Natteke
I'm thinking to repack all graved taiko maps I have atm
