why not have a 5-10 second delay for us to get ready after u resume the game instead of clicking on the orange cursor to resume .

Because that's where your cursor was before you paused. If it didn't do this you could abuse the pauze function a little for a hard jumps (for example). Unless you have an actual thought out idea on a good way to implement this... I don't think this is a good idea at all.
