Need help with editing 50s/100s!

I tried making my own kind, just small circles. I changed their names correctly and replaced the old ones in a skin I already use - but they won't change and instead some other weird 50/100 is being used.

What am I doing wrong?

Are they in .png format? Are you using SD or HD? Does the file have @2x after the file name?

I tried saving them in .png format but the program I use to open pictures keep changing them to "Irfanview Gif File" or something along those lines, the files do not have @2x. Don't know what SD or HD is :S

iirc only png format is supported. What program are you using? GIMP and Photoshop work well. GIMP is a free program also. Of course there are also alternatives.
