There are Teams like Team Kappa b or Team AZER-SENPAI AND AZER'S CAT PLS NOTICE US in that list, while they're not in the list of participants. Probably just an error/test.[Toy] wrote:

I personally like the map pool, there are only a few that I think could be easier :pAzer wrote:
Out of curiosity what would you guys think of moving the round 1 pool to round 2 and making one thats slightly easier for the first round?
Just gathering opinions, nothing official yet or anything.
First round pool is fine, just inconsistent. HR picks are a bit harder than the rest of the pool and that's about it. The HD picks are really good though imo and I like the wild card maps like Magnolia & Move That Body in there.Azer wrote:

Also just wondering:
-Can we ban maps
-How are you seeding teams
80% of all the teams can at least FC 60% of all the maps. So that should be good, imo.you are pretty wrote:
In my opinion the maps are a bit too difficult for a first round, but with the quality of the players on the team it might not matter.
Imo, for a Round one it's pretty tough and maybe even too difficult here and there (keep in mind that all teams together have a avg of 4844pp, which is roughly in the area where you can FC 170 pp* maps easily, 190 pp* maps with maybe some tries and 220 pp* maps with more focus). Iam not quite sure what kind of diffs you guys would want to put for the future rounds. I mean, we're currently at 5.0 - 5.4 Star diff maps. What are we supposed to play in Round 2, 3 etc? Would the Final include 6.5 diff maps? There arent too many good and fitting maps out there.Azer wrote:

Mh, I don't like how Challonge puts the #1 team vs the #32 team and so on. Wouldn't it be more exciting if #1 would play #17, #2 vs #18 and so on? I doubt these matches would be very fun for anybody.
Wont happen. If Seed 32 would win against Seed 18 for example, Seed 32 would still be #rekt in the next match, when they play against Seed 4 or whatever[AirCoN] wrote:

With your system there would be NO interesting games. A seeding system like this is meant to ensure that the teams that deserve to get into the next round do, while creating heated contests among the teams that are in the middle of the pack. Obviously first seed should pretty much always be expected to go through barring a miracle or freak occurrence. But now the games that are most interesting are #16 v. #17, #15 v. #18, etc., and part of the exciting thing is to see how far up the chain the matches will be close, like whether or not a #21 will be able to upset a #12, or a #25 upset a #8. With the system you propose, all teams that are higher seeded should always advance, since there is a considerable skill gap in every single match.Tshemmp wrote:

+ That would mean the final would be THEORICALLY #1 vs #16. I guess nobody wants that. Of course the first round wouldn't be the most interesting with my system but ALL the other rounds would be interesting.CptHampton wrote:

This live drawings will happen. "Top-seed1" just mean that a top-seeded hold this place. It will determine who will be put against who on later rounds.mayank0 wrote:

I agree with this. You could however, make it like Tennis, where the top 4 or top 8 seeds are seeded and everybody else is random.NixXSkate wrote:
Although I'm excited for this tournament, I feel really bad for the lower seeds. I know the idea is so the matches become really intense toward the end, but I feel that the teams of lower seeds will feel discouraged, and in turn, probably won't want to participate next year in a tournament that seems to be in favor of using the lower seeded teams to keep the top seeded teams alive to battle it out in later matches. There are definitely different ways to set it up so everyone can have an enjoyable first match with a team they have a chance with, not just the mid seeds, and still have top tier's battle it out in the quarter or semifinals. I feel bad for encouraging my friend to join the tournament since right of the bat he'll have to face rrtyui's team.
Of course, it's late to be expressing my opinions, but I just hope it can be different for next year, or at least have a loser's bracket or something.
Look on the bright side, if this tournament is successful we'll eventually have a very high quality quarterly tournament where unknown players in the top 1k can display their skills. I believe when competition rises, more quality players will want to play in this tournament. Let this be food for thought, 256 players max can join this tournament. That's literally 25% of the top 1k or 12.5% of the the top 2k, the amount of potential this tourny has is a lot.NixXSkate wrote:

With the skill gap between teams being this wide, blowouts are unavoidable. It's best to have them happen in the early rounds, if there are huge skill gaps between teams in later rounds it might detract from the legitimacy of the tournament. If you look on the bright side, how many other chances will your friend get to play in a match with rrtyui?NixXSkate wrote:

It's not just some blowouts, it was designed for ALL of the lower seeds to get screwed though, that's the thing. It's not one team getting unlucky, it's ALL of the lower seeded teams. It's like, why would you join next year with a low seeded team if you know you won't stand a chance in hell first round? Will they just put names of high pp players that aren't actually going to play just to be a higher seeded team so they can have a decent match in the first round?CptHampton wrote:
