Denpa onna to seishun otoko, binbougami ga, A-channel. I don't see much discussion about these, even tough they're good.

I see "like" as character with god. Therefore, I'd recommend Serial Experiments Lain.

I say try Angel Beats. Both have similar characters that create the same comedy. Both animes are in a high school setting as well.

I need a suggestion for anime that got the same genre like Jormungand & BTOOOM?
Mogsy

satriobp wrote:

Both of those, while action shows, are definitely different types of action shows. Jormungand is more episodic and detailing with combat strategy while BTOOOM! deals with a survival game story; you have plenty of options in the latter compared to the former, but both are dark action shows that focus on battle strategy.

If you're looking for something that's merely a dark action show with pathos, give Gunslinger Girl a shot. Definitely not as action-packed as either of those but it's definitely worth the watch and the action is well-choreographed. Most similar to Jormungand in presentation though would be Black Lagoon.

im looking for an action based anime with a female lead that is at least in their late teens or already an adult (things like ghost in the shell, bayonetta or claymore or something) preferably fantasy but doesnt have to be. any recommendations?

Blood+ is pretty graphic in terms of blood and has a story based around vampires.
Witch Hunter Robin is based around individuals with special powers, though the main character's fifteen years old.
So you could give Blood + or Witch Hunter Robin a try if you're into action on the side of supernatural and don't mind older anime.
silmarilen
ive seen blood+, it was decent, but not really anything special. ill check out witch hunter robin. any more?
NFZ_Cap
Any suggestions for something similar to Baki the grappler. I loved the detailed philosophy behind the fighting with a vague mystical aspect. anything helps.

heres my short anime list http://myanimelist.net/animelist/DeathGrip

Sorry, didn't check this forum thread until now.
Witch Hunter Robin wasn't anything special either, but hey, you never know until you try.
I don't 'really' have anything else that has a female lead. Claymore and Ghost in the Shell were the first two that came to mind when you said 'female lead' and I don't really watch much in the way of Fantasy nowadays.

While I'm currently on a re-watch of Katanagatari, why not add it as a recommendation here.

I have scarcely anything left save for HunterXHunter for my current watching, excluding the list of titles I plan on re-watching instead.

Think I fell out of Nisekoi at the 4th episode, and Strike The Blood was getting rather tiresome to watch.
I dragged my feet all the way through to episode 16 of that.

On reading a comment left at the previous page, I'd have to add that Witch Hunter Robin is a pretty good choice.

It doesn't blow your mind away, but it is a solid show that can stand on it's own without reliance on cliche. Plus it had a good soundtrack to boot.

Not sure if you already watched these anime or not but w/e, I'll post it for other people

If you haven't already watched Tokyo Ravens, you should try it out. I'm not exactly "into it" as much as Noragami or Sekai Seifuku: Bouryaku no Zvezda, but it's still good.

Shinsekai Yori is a extremely slow starting anime but gets very intense on the later episodes. It's not that popular since most people stopped watching around ep 2-4.

Noragami's another one that I'd recomend and it's pretty popular though I heard that it only gets 12 episodes.

All 3 of those anime involve superpower/supernatural things.
Faust
Probably would be more willing to try these out at a much later date.

I have seen Shin Sekai Yori alright. (Not completed)

I've been struggling to keep myself afloat on the past few seasons already and I've been losing my interest in the upcoming releases.
I should add that some seasons do clinch, and some are rather bland.

Spring 2014 looks promising, to say the least.

Are you trolling? Because it's not cool to recommend such a show given what he's searching for...

Given that he's searching for somewhat seinen series with action my best recommendation would be one of my recent favorites Psycho-pass.

I don't like to describe shows because I think anything can be interpreted as a type if spoiler. However if you enjoyed btooom and jor~ I guarantee you'll enjoy this show.

if you've seen it just lmk i have tonnes of seinen shows stacked up ;)

Im not trolling, BTOOOM And Danganronpa is similar.

There's dead or alive. Killing or killed.

I really enjoyed Inu-Yasha and it's sequel (The Final Act). 167+26 episodes.
First part is full of filler but some of them aren't all that bad.
So there's something for a longer anime.

Try Gintama. It's very long comedy anime (around 200 ish eps) and it's also from the same magazine as Naruto and One Piece.
Beware though that it contain a lot of dirty jokes so it may not a proper watch for children and that the first 50 episode may be boring, but if you can past those, Gintama is an awesome experience

Guess you want some emotional ones then, welp these are the ones that I enjoyed the most

AnoHana, ef - a tale of memories, ef - a tale of melodies, Kanon (2006), Little Busters (note that Little Busters: Refrain is kinda like Clannad: After Story for Clannad, so even if you didn't like the 1st season that much it's worth watching)

Be more specific about the kind of show you want to watch (give a list of genres, for instance). Otherwise it'll be the same "CLANNAD ANGEL BEATS FMAB CLANNAD TORADORA MIRAI NIKKI CLANNAD" crap over and over and over again that gets lumped in with any general "suggest me stuff" question.

Definitely an underrated show. People these days only search for pure fanservice, and ignore the ones with deeper meanings.

The thing I didn't like about it is how poorly they portrayed the brother/sister love at the end. Had the story been somehow shifted to a more passive progression, they probably would've had an opportunity for another season.
Meh, it's good as it is.

He doesn't like anime with all females unless they're pursued as potential romantic/sexual interests by a male character. That is sexist as hell.

No. I've seen some IS, it isn't my thing. Harem shit in general isn't my thing and I didn't like how the series was written as a whole.

Also, thanks for also assuming that I like a series that I also do not like in the slightest just because I don't like your favourite anime. Real mature there.

I'm usually not a fan of most light novel adaptations in general, either, especially those of the male power fantasy variety. Both IS and SAO are very thinly-veiled male power fantasies.
Justykanna
I actually meant to check our Aquarion a while ago.
Anyways.

I assume you've seen Valvrave the Liberator (or at least tried it)? If not, maybe give that a try.
I consider that entertaining because it's reasonably flashy and some of the stuff in it I'd consider over the top.

Not really 'over the top and ludicrous', but Gundam 00 remains my favourite mecha, just because I love the characters/mechs and it looks great (well... to me anyway). Story's not terrible either. 50 episodes long with a movie ending.

Daily Lives of High School Boys and Nichijou are both big comedy animes that I's highly recommend. Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei is pretty grand as well. And then there's Non Non Biyori, though it's rather slow paced compared to the others, it has plenty of humorous moments.

Suggesting an anime to someone who hasn't seen anything before except what you mentioned (which I'd hardly even count an abridged series) is rather difficult. Starting off with more mainstream anime, possibly some oldies might be a good idea, to get the gist of what you're looking to see. Could also base your genre interests off of other things, like books or movies you like to watch. Which might be easier to go with. So I can't think any specific suggestions to really give right now.
