Well, I did MW2 wrong because I played Hardened first. I tried Vet first, but that was waaaay too hard at the time. I thought it'd be fun cause RE5 sure as hell was fun on Veteran. I got MW2 for the Spec Ops. The only way I'll touch MP is if the DLC map pack shit comes with trophies. And even then, I might just say fuck it.

As for Bayonetta, I haven't found a single, tiny bit of slowdown or lag yet. The loading times are there, and some are pretty stupid, like loading the start menu and stuff, but yeah, no lag so far. But I'm only up to chapter 5. I've been thorough, so it's been slow going.

Maybe the first one, but I'm pretty sure people just play this sequel for the MP. Most of the people I know who have this game don't have a single trophy because they only play MP and that mode has no trophies. Rolled knows what I'm talking about.

Well for one, the american release was supposed to be somewhat more tuned than the japanese PS3 release, and people said the noticeable slowdown doesn't hit untill late game like chapter 14. Although, most topics about the lag talk about how noticeable the difference between 30 and 60 fps is.(hardly any other than it looks a little more clean)

Also I finally got my PS3 and Valkyria Chronicles and MGS4.

Valkyria Chronicles is fun. Thankfully despite the turn based system, both sides units attack when they see someone running from cover to cover. Probably one of the farthest games you can be from turned based while still being turn based :V

The only reason people talk down about call of duty online play is because it has such a very steep learning curve. It could be your first match ever and you could be matched up with the top player. Although I will say that if you enjoy running mindlessly around a map until you find an opponent, and have a long drawn out gun battle to the death, this game really won't be your thing. MW2 is a lot more reliant on strategy, knowing your terrain, out-predicting opponents, etc. Hence why it has such a big learning curve, because you don't pick up such techniques in one sitting.

Battlefield 2 kicked MW2's multiplayer 6 ways to sunday in terms of actual balance. Everyone I know now abuses the fuck out of kill streaks and they get a nuke every other day.

Any semblance on skill was ruined by perks and killstreaks.

Even worse is perks and killstreaks lend the game to be dominated by 2 players while everyone else struggles to keep an even KD.

I got up to this part with a titan and shit tonnes of guys coming down an elevator in Batman.
This shit is stupidly hard, it feels like the worst designed fight they could have made.

* Fill room with baddies
* Put titan in room
* Make room so small that throwing a batarang and dodging a titan while fighting shit tonnes of goons becomes frustratingly hard
* Throw more baddies in

Yeah but it can also be annoying as fuck. It's fun in its own regard but don't think you're skilled because you can whore killstreak bonuses.

Ok, I finally have a verdict on this PS3 Bayonetta slowdown nonsense. FINALLY beat the game today and there was exactly 1 spot that had a noticeable amount of slowdown. It's during a part where there's over a hundred moving platforms moving around at once, so, you know, it's understandable. You only have to fight 3 really weak dudes like that. There wasn't a damn bit of slowdown in Chapter XIV, so I don't know where that came from. I was able to get the Prologue to slow down a bit when I revisited it with some later weapons, but that was a fluke.

Yeah, I was going to say the same thing.
Still the pause is irritating, especially when you want to skip a cutscene, but the loading to the pause+skip is longer than the cutscene itself. lol
I liked all the weapons, except the whip. I might have not unlocked them all. I liked katana+ice skating shoes.

Yeah, we probably only have half of the weapons. You get one for beating Normal/Hard/Hardest difficulty, one for completing 100 chapters, and 1 for beating the secret boss. The only one that's actually new, I'm assuming, is the one for beating 100 chapters. I want that weapon so bad. Unlocking all of the accessories and extra characters is gonna be a challenge though.

I feel the same way about that pause load time. It's not that big of a deal during normal gameplay, but I like to skip cutscenes a lot and it's annoying to have to wait to skip a cutscene. You always have to ask yourself which is faster: the cutscene or waiting to skip it?

I can see modern warfare 2 being fun in a LAN environment, but overall the game is just not that fun. You've heard this from me before but the reason why it's not is because you literally die in 1 second in almost all circumstances. This leaves you with 2 choices to get kills and not die:

1. Camp
2. Run around the map in a learned path over and over again

The first choice is boring as hell, which isn't what a game should be. The second option a bot could do for you; also boring.

People want "long drawn out" gun battles to the death because that is action, and action = fun. Games should be fun.

The only thing worse than MW2 is MAG. Holy crap, that was one of the most boring online FPS games I've ever played. Practically every game mode is secure/defend, which means if you're on the defending team, you practically win. When you die, and you will a thousand times if you're attacking, you get spawned what feels like miles away from where you need to be, so you have to run back and get killed again. Penny Arcade summed it up pretty well. Create character, run for five minutes, get killed by some guy you didn't even see. I'm surprised at how good the snipers are in that game considering how much the sniper rifles suck. There is little to no action in this "massive action game." I was hoping it'd be fun, too.

TF2 and Quake directly appeal to gamers who want shootouts because every single confrontation is like a mini fight.

Its not just 100% about positioning advantage.

I mean seriously, quick time event to kiss someone?
Quick time event to waggle your arms and feet?
Quick time event to do something that isn't even needed in the cut scene but exists solely for the sake of making you interact with that cut scene because they want to make sure you're paying attention?
Quick time events out the ass.

Nice game though apart from them switching between Italian and English every 3 seconds.
And it also it punishes me for stabbing minstrels. They're fucking minstrels for god's sake, they're practically made to be stabbed. They make them all in your face and shit specifically to make you want to stab them.

At least most of the quicktime events in Bayonetta make sense, although they are, of course, not that necessary either. They do most of the jumping around and action stuff like that for you most of the time, so it makes me wonder why they ask you to do it for them sometimes. I dunno. They're usually not so bullshit and there's not a lot of them.

I figured out the secret to the quicktime events where you have to press square. Hold the button for a second. Tapping it almost never works, but whenever I hold it, it works fine. I died so many times until I figured that out. Tapping X works fine for those, but for the one on chapter 2 and stuff, holding square works best.

It's a Tetsuya Nomura game though, so if you like his other games, I imagine you'll like this one. That's what I'm expecting - I expect I'll really enjoy it, solely because of Nomura.

But I'm cheeeeap.

If you're getting it, don't bother with the English version. After hearing that they're apparently replacing the song with "My Hands" by some chick, I was extremely happy. Then I heard the song, it was ear rape. Of course this is just my opinion about that song. Not sure if others will like it.
Otherwise, the game looks great, and I have no problems with the voice overs.

That's a pretty good philosophy. If the theme song sucks, don't get it. Who cares about gameplay? That's why Kingdom Hearts was so great. It had a great theme song. But seriously though, I don't think I like the English dub as much as the Japanese one, but whatever. As long as the battles are good.

awp: I think you're thinking of Final Fantasy Versus XIII. He's directing that one. Also, those battle transitions suck a bit. That stuff's gonna add up. Like in FFX, they were so annoying. In FFXII, there were none. I liked that, although it did make the game feel like an MMORPG.

Now those are a lot of exploits and crap that I know I will never ever bother with. Good grief. Although, then again, I have no idea what most of that shit does yet. I know the gambits from FFXII were wtf until I got used to them. So useful.

The one that was in that trailer, with the Seifer clone and that - pretty sure that's Nomura too. I read as much, somewhere. He (Nomura) tends to to that (Seifer -> Beat -> ...Snow, was it? Dude with black toque. They all kinda look similar.)

Nomura's an artist in FFXIII, but he's directing FFvsXIII. The guy in that one has that wicked name, Noctis. I can't wait for that one. It's supposed to be like a more mature Kingdom Hearts. I never knew he was the guy that directed TWEWY.

Well, I did think that the main dude looked a lot like Sora, but I thought it was just a coincidence. Other than knowing the basic gist of the battle system and seeing the box art, I did stay away from it entirely.

Man, Bayonetta is some fun shit. Beat it on normal, playing through hard/unlocking other shit/just fighting motherfuckers, now.

My index and middle fingers are in serious pain from all the dodging and shit though. The parry/counter bracelet is awesome.

Disgaea is worth twice as much as 70 dollar titles like Prototype and RE5 (though RE5 finally dropped to like 35 dollars) because you get like quadruple the play-time from it. I know I exceeded 200 hours. I didn't even buy the second-storyline DLC. idk I don't like Raspberyl. Though, apparently Flonne gets up to some antics, I imagine it's only for like half a chapter.

I had tons of fun with Disgaea 3 as well. And I don't even give a shit about getting all the trophies. That game is sweet as hell.

I'm hoping White Knight Chronicles is rad (for something to do until final fantasy 13)

Yeah, I tried the rosary out a bit and was surprised at how much damage it does for how easy it is to dodge.

For some reason I've been using the Onyx Roses on both arms and legs all the time now while going through hard. I didn't even use them on my first playthrough really. Damage isn't even all that stellar, but popping up next to an enemy in Witch Time, shotgunning them in the face, and watching them shoot into the air is way satisfying. And Kilgore is so OP I feel dirty using them.

I'll get the saifung today and see how they are.

And I'm getting Disgaea 3 today most likely. I know D3 is packed with replay value, but it's been so long since I've played an action game that was so much fucking fun.

Saifung's hella weak, but she does the Bruce Lee yell, so it's awesome. There's also, like, no combos for it. Have you tried doing the Kilgore Combo? THAT is ridiculous, but so funny.

You can add both of them since I switch acc. when I play HSG:OOB (Kuro is a G2, Xiao is a G1) but I will be rarely on untill Dark Cloud 3 will be announced for the PS3 and will be released for it.

Also I only have Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds and Wangan Midnight (Think I spelled it wrong...) for my PS3

I retreated all my units except for an engineer to hide behind the tank and spawned them at the base camp, she didn't touch them once.

I picked up White Knight Chronicles a couple of days ago, chiming in to say it's pretty fun as well.

Story seems pretty awful, though. Typical Level-5 obvious cheesy cliche'd bullshit.

I bodyblocked selvaria with the eidelweiss. Got an A rank. My 3 lancers and an engineer never left the top trenches and my tank took out everyone who came with selvaria.

4 lancers, spawned one lancer at the lower left camp and had him wreck the walls then had him help take down the tank.

White Knight's online is pretty cool and fun, but the single player experience seems a bit eh. I'll probably just rush past the main storyline and spend the rest of my days dicking around on online.

Machine gun hit rate with a Sniper range, she is insane, you'll get used to it soon.
And there something I never knew except on the chapter before the final: Lancers can headshot.

I got Star Ocean for the 360. It was good, somewhat similar to the one PS2. I stopped playing because my xbox froze after about 4 hours of none saved gameplay. damn scarce saves. It doesn't even save when you change the disc. wtf is that?

Lol I try to max out my tank acc as much as possible so I can headshot lancers with anti armor rounds. Haven't missed a shot yet since I got the 2x2 block 8-)

The battle system is BETTER than SO3, and they added in the option of japanese dialogue. I don't think I can NOT buy it.

That voice acting makes me wanna cry and never stop.

I still don't understand why someone would make difficulties for an RPG. "Man, just got done doing a 100 hour playthrough of that game... TIME TO DO IT AGAIN, EXCEPT HARDER!"

Difficulties in an RPG are okay so long as they don't make you unlock them. Given that the learning curve in RPGs tends to be much lower than in other games, someone who catches on quick is probably safe to step up the difficulty early on.

well It seems Valkyria Chronicles doesnt seem to have any more bullshit hard missions.... OH FUCK WHAT WHY 2 BOSS STRENGTH TANKS. OH GODDAMNIT WHY DO EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEIR UNITS RESPAWN AT THE END OF THE TURN.

I'm going to see if I can plant a lancer behind where the south tank spawns screw this.
