Yeah, I think the OP needs a bit of an update, seeing as the new Intuos is replacing the Bamboo lineup (while the Intuos Pro replaces the old Intuos lineup).
i use bamboo cth-470k but i feel like a slight delay on the cursor is it the tablet or my computer ?

Im relativly new to the Game and can play most songs on Hard.
Im playing with a Mouse and would like to know if a Tablet would be worth it to get into the faster songs.
Im not sure if the Money would be worth it tough, since i dont know if and how much i would improve with it.

I have a SilverCrest (very cheap) Tablet from a discounter and it worked (just fine).
However it had no "scaling" and i would have to go all over the big workspace all the time to reach the points, also it sometimes just stops working until i touch the tablet with the pen.
So i just bought a Intuos Pen Small now to get rid of the problems and have fun with high quality.
There was a comment on Amazon for it (in german) stating that it works great with osu.
A friend bought it also, so if you want i can tell you how it works in a few days.
But i'm sure it will work perfectly

The Capture comes with the Autodesk SketchBook Express, Adobe Photoshop Elements and Nik Color Filters softwares bundled with it. It also has 4 programmable buttons on the tablet itself that you can customize, and has a multi-touch function (you can use fingers - pinch to zoom, scroll, etc).Chibi211 wrote:

The Splash is about 20$ cheaper, comes with the Autodesk SketchBook Express and ArtRage 3 Studio bundled.
Both tablets are otherwise completely similar, the active area, pressure sensitivity and accuracy are all exactly the same as well.
So, basically the 20$ difference would be the 4 programmable buttons and the multi-touch function and the Photoshop Elements. There's also some minor aesthetic and color differences as well.
Now, to answer your question, if you're planning to use the tablet solely for osu!, the additional buttons and touch functions are just a hindrance and going for the Capture would be pointless. If you're actually seriously considering to use it for other purposes as well, the additional buttons help a little with laziness as you can assign functions to them in Photoshop or other programs instead of manually clicking and selecting tools, but are still otherwise pretty much entirely pointless. The touch function doesn't have a whole lot of uses as well. So, in my opinion I think the Splash is better all around since Capture doesn't really offer anything additional that's a whole lot worthwhile.

But at this point, the Intuos tablets are the ones you should consider the most (unless you can get your hands on an older Wacom tablet for a lower price, but usually those don't have pens with erasers).

I'm using it since a couple of weeks now and i'm really happy with it (just like a friend of mine).
The accuracy is outstanding and the settings are highly configurable to fit your needs (like the tablet area you want to use).
If you have a look in the thread "area of your bamboo tablet" you'll see some others using it too
So you don't have to fear that it could not be as good as a bamboo.

Just because it isn't on sale atm that doesn't mean you shouldn't consider it. It is definitely a valid option, planning ahead is a thing.

I have the Wacom Intuos Pen and I have to say it is very good. the nice thing is that you can adjust the settings to match your preferences, or in this case, tweak them until you get the optimal setup. I just got mine yesterday and I can say that the small works very well, just remember to change how the buttons act on the pen or you might open up the radial menu like I did while playing
I use the Inutos small pen and multi touch and it works very well with osu!

The price of the CTH-460 seems to be around double that of the H420, yet the H420 has better on-paper specs (4000 vs 2048 LPI, 200 vs 133 RPS). Only big differences (for osu!) seem to be the area (H420 is maybe half the full area of the CTH-460), and the pen (H420 uses a battery).

If you're planning to draw with the tablet as well as play osu! I would say the Wacom simply because the larger area benefits both activities. Which drawing tablet are you looking at? You don't need too large an area, most people usually don't use the entire area. Most player will tell you what they are using and the active area in their setting in their profiles.
The important thing is that the tablet is able to detect the pen and that you are comfortable with the grip and weight of the pen itself
I myself bought CTL-470 as I don't have much choice here since tablets are not widely available here (Not that I am complaining, rttyui is using this too)
You will eventually find out that most players probably uses the same tablets around, price may vary from 25 USD to 100 USD and above depending on who they are and what they use it for.
In osu, bigger area means more control and better precision which is good for stream but bad for jumps because you have to move more.
Edit: My bad, Niko's configuration was 2/3 of the tablet area. This is what most players set it to. mine is barely 1/9

I can't judge which is better when it comes to osu, since tablet quality doesn't really affect much in osu. At most you will only be looking at how compatible it is with your computer and the active size.
CTL 471 has a mouse mode and gives you a bigger active size, 14.7mm x 9.2mm while H420 gives you 10.2cm x 5.8cm
but the downside to CTL 471 is actually that wasted space aside from the active area.
I have also heard that the pen for H420 is kind of heavy.

I use a CTL 480, which is the intuos small tablet and it works really well. The pen feels like a pen should and it's just sensitive enough for Osu. The only downside is that I had to pay $70 USD for it, but I think it was well worth it considering that some tablets cost way more than that.

and eraser is... lets say its not worth the extra 20$, since you can erase by using a software tool
if you wanna choose between this two then go with CTL-480, if you wanna choose the best for Osu! go with Huion W58, it has 230 Polling rate (CTL 480 has 200, Huion has faster response rate) and 5000 LPI which means 2.5x more accuracy than Wacoms (2000~ish) technically it's better by far than any of Wacoms.. wacoms are overrated and pricey for what it has to offer.

i got a CTL 470 and i just got the huion h420
i must say the huion feels more responsive and i can hover at a better distance.
(the driver of the huion tend not to conflict with windows contrary to the wacom one )

Looking for a tablet that works for osu! and is a good drawing tablet as well. Any advice? I read the tablet guide but it seems to be a bit dated in this regard -- then again, maybe used Intuos3 is still the way to go.
I was looking to get a tablet on the low end of the price range. The ones linked in the guide do look good but I was just wondering, I went on the bamboo site and it is showing me a tablet just called "Bamboo pad" for $50 http://www.wacom.com/en/us/everyday/bamboo-pad-usb . Is this a different product and would it work ok? Also this is probably a stupid question but is it possible to use an actual tablet (like an ipad kindof tablet) with osu, plugged into the computer? Hey, I'm looking to replace my good ol' Bamboo Capture CTH-470 with something with a smaller footprint on my desk, and I noticed that the Bamboo Pad CTH-300 actually has drivers now (as of August). Now I got a CTL480 a week ago. I felt really weird at first and I had trouble using it properly. But even though having had it for only 6 days now I am already better in terms of accuracy and speed. It gave me all the benefits I was hoping for.
-Hovering without any physical resistance creates a more reliable cursor movement
-Pen is lighter than my mouse so movement in general are comming out more instant
-Sweaty hands don't create an issue for me anymore since I don't have the interruption of a fluid motion on the mousepad anymore
-Pin point locating circles which was not always as easy with the mouse due to relative cursor movement
-Spinners are much easier and more fun with a pen.
I love it and won't ever go back.
