Changing my osu! community mafia thing to a mafia co-hosted by LS and me. Since I'm kinda of detached from this community, I feel like I can no longer host that one.

Our mafia will be 'The Best of Roles'. A sort of compilation of old and new roles that we've come up with over the years that either change the standard or feature new ideas and mechanics for mafia. I am not guaranteeing balance and all and LS might put something bastard in but my roles are mostly neat variations.

This will also be closed setup too. More people joining, more roles that are in there.

Mafia Union will not go through because of severe balance issues.

Instead

It will Be:

Touhou 10.5: Scarlet Weather Rhapsody


Featuring All 15 Playable characters from the SWR series

And Introducing:
The Weather System
The weather will have effects on night actions that you perform. Either to your advantage, or disadvantage.

Notes:
1) Character WILL NOT BE an alignment tell
2) It would still be a bit of a swingy game but WAY LESS swingy that you might think (I hope...)
3) There will be a list of weather at the start of the game, and what it does. Weather would also be chosen at random. There may also be a time when a preemptive prediction will be posted with a vote count. It may actually happen, or change on the last second. So your strategic skills will be tested.

Side note:I may post a better overview/introduction (or what you call this) of the game later in the week

If anyone's interested I could host a Dethy setup (5p)
It's basically this:
1x Sane Cop (Gets correct results)
1x Paranoid Cop (Gets Guilty on Everyone)
1x Naive Cop (Gets Innocent on Everyone)
1x Insane Cop (Gets Reversed results)
1x Mafia Goon

Night 0 Cop Head-Start
The cops dont know their sanities.
If a cop dies, the flip doesn't reveal sanity.

the EV is 3/7 which is like almost the same as regular 2-11 mountainous

Unfortunately, it will be similar to Higurashi in that the set-up is fully designed beforehand since there will be non-standard elements in it.

Currently, I am in the process of writing up the roles for this...However, the more I look at it, the more I think this should really be at MS instead...maybe

I think I might even change what game I want to do once again. Let's see the other Mafia games that I said I would make...


I can do Moderator Mafia or They Are Mafia. Which one do people want? Writing roles for both now.

Note: They Are Mafia will only accept signups for people who have played in more than one mafia game in a lifetime.

speaking of MS, it is precisely 1 week till I get to sign up to make my modding debut on that site

it'll be a closed normal 13p setup. we should go invade that game when it starts taking signups :3

You can always join outside of newbie games just saying.
The only limit is that if you join a newbie game and you're a newbie you cant be in 2 newbie games at the same time.

Oh also you need to join as SE if you have 3 finished games, but that's not an issue if you want to join outside of the newbie queue anyways.

A suggestion, dont join the Open mod queue if what you want is to get off fast with a game and try the normal queue instead (those are the only 2 you can use with 0 modding experience in MS), I've been on the Open Game Queue as mod for like a month and a half and there's still like 7 ppl before me.

Note that when I put my mini normal through, it took a very long time before I was cleared to go. I really hope the list mod changing affected that positively.

and if he's not here then next is Lilac

and if he passes then next is farto x Sakura, but that's a 15p game and idk if that's possible

if everyone passes next is me (I won't pass) but I won't be hosting the setup in the first post. it'll be a surprise exactly what it is :P it's only a 9p game so we can also do that one if there's not enough activity for a larger game

  3. jester has until D3 to be lynched. if he fails, he suicides and loses
  4. when the first mafia dies, the remaining mafia gets a 1-shot kill

Will be a 12-p game with special lynch mechanics.
Each Night, a randomly selected person will be picked to submit a number from 1 - 10. That number will determine a special lynch mechanic for that day.
For example, if 2 was picked and it turned out to be "Rock, Paper, Scissors", the lynch for that day will be decided by the winner of rock, paper, scissors, etc.

Edit: Actually I probably am going to switch my Groups in Town game with this one if I'm able to balance it out eventually.

Just a note that I am getting places with my Rewrite set-up. I'll most likely announce what the new shenanigans are later this week or sometime next week.

That also means I'd like a co-mod for this game as well since I think this one will be even more difficult to balance/keep track of/flavor.

Sleep/Sleepless Mafia | 9p++ | Closed setup
  1. The game has 2 parts: Day and Night. Each of them have a equal deadline, so do lynch rule. (Player can also vote at night.)
  2. Players can choose whether they'll sleep at night or not.
  3. Night kill can only use when the user is awake at night.
  4. Died player become ghost. They can talk in forum at night. They can't vote. (Example: town die becomes ghost town, mafia die becomes ghost mafia)
  5. Player must shout their action before use it, except night.
If I missed anything, please tell me.

EDIT: Changed from open to closed setup.

If town is lynched, mafia needs to sacrifice one of his partners at night.
If mafia is lynched, mafia can nightkill one of the townies.

Town wins if they lynch mafia three times.
Mafia wins if town mislynch three times.

Lupus in Tabula | 12p | Open Setup | Night start | No Reveal

2 Wolves: mafia goons, they have one factional nightkill, they have nighttalk but no daytalk
1 Mythomaniac: cop inspection on him gives town result, but he wins with wolves - he doesn't know who the wolves are
1 Seer: cop
1 Whore: doc
1 Medium: from the 2nd night on, he gets notified if the person who was lynched the day before was town or wolf
6 Villagers: vanilla townies

Deadlines will be 4 or 5 days for each day (as you prefer), and 24 hrs for each night


That should be pretty balanced - Let me know if i can go with that :)

Also the setup is pretty townsided. That mythos thingy is a bad role that people will hate to play with due to the very high difficulty of that role (need to scumhunt correctly AND being able to signal scams that you are the mythos without being found out by town.)
Even with the night start scum has a chance to nightkill his buddy which will be bad. Not to mention that once the two goons die, it's basically a town autowin if the cop is still alive.

with 3 wolves and no mythomaniac, the setup would favor scum due to the night start and the no-reveal thing
also the Mythomaniac is IMO the funniest role ever to play

maybe the only thing i should correct is to make wolves aware of who the Mythomaniac is at the beginning of the game

I have a gimmicky idea for a minigame next time we decide to start one.

3 Goons (daytalk)
4 Townies
1 Town Vig Switch
1 Town 1-Shot Vig

The goons know who the two non-townies are, but not who is which. Neither the Vig Switch nor the 1-Shot Vig know they are those roles, and the Vig only gains the shot when the Vig Switch dies. The mafia get a one-shot kill that can be used anytime after D2, but not in LyLo.

It still achieves the gf status before being recruited.
