Pretty sure it was suggested already (probably recently), but Ib is probably the best free game I've ever played. I seriously love indie horror games like it. It's definitely my favorite amongst games like The Witch's House, Misao, The Crooked Man, etc.
And for an online one, Audition Online is pretty fun. I played it a lot before I discovered osu! a couple years back.

Super Mario Brothers X (latest version is 1.3)
It's a level editor and player (the best, in my opinion) that includes features from Super Mario Bros 1, 2, 3 and Super Mario World.
it also has realtime multiplayer editing but testing is laggy as fuck
google has a few links but there's no 'official' link any more, and unfortunately the game isn't being updated anymore either (the author is working on "Terraria")
but yeah, if you're into some good old Mario gaming this is definitely worth checking out
(you can also change the graphics entirely by replacing files in your level/world folder)
although there's one thing I hate about it:
the level editor has no fucking undo button.

Xonotic is an AMAZING freeware fps. Its like quake 3 arena gameplay but with amazing graphics, even faster passed gameplay, and a ton of maps with an awesome soundtrack. Its probably the best freeware fps i have played. It a ton of fun.

Track mania, woooooo! Yeah that game is amazing for a free game, but if you have 26 bucks and want a game, get either track mania united forever (which is less) or track mania 2 (which is the new game) It's very fun!!!! This is a used-to--be hardcore track mania united player. I loved that game, but after years if only track mania, my life is done with that for now xD

Not sure if anyone already said this but Tera's a pretty good MMORPG game. It's a bit boring to level up but the combat kinda makes up for it. You can reach lvl 60 (Cap lvl) in about a week or two just by questing.
Here's a pretty old video of a lower leveled dungeon from a lancer's PoV, but the dungeon's stilll the same:
This isn't a tab targetting/point and click game. You actually have to dodge/block the boss's attacks. In the video, Steparu stands still because well, he's a tank and tanks don't have a lot of mobility. The cute little bunny girl you see is an Elin.
There are 7 races:
Elin
Popori (we just call them popos)
Barakas
Amani
Castanic
High Elf
Human
Only Elins, Popos, and Barakas are gender locked. The rest aren't.
Class types (there are 8):
Warrior - DPS/Tank
Slayer - DPS
Lancer - Tank
Beserker (mostly everyone calls them zerkers)
Priest - Healer
Mystic - Healer
