That is not Townie play at all.
True that lynching a vanilla townie over the power role is good for town, but lynching mafia instead of town is still better.
Even if a power role gets in danger, a claim would usually suffice for town not to lynch them. Claiming mafia doesn't really help at all.

You wake up to find the storm still hammering the ship quite hard. Everyone gathers on the main deck for a head count before starting on the ship's daily activities. You can't help but to notice... One is missing. You all find blood dripping off one of the masts and you see Sakura hanging from the foremast, dragging with the wind.

Well let's review yesterday. My reads from yesterday made me think that Sakura was scum for that bandwagon vote on brbp with a "you're getting more suspicious now" reason.
I have to agree withTsukasa here; her being NK'd doesn't seem to make sense unless it was scum trying to kill off possible power roles.

No there was also a chance he could have been mafia too. Which is why mafia>vanilla > power in lynching. And i didwanted a cop scan but the way he was acting could have been a way to make him less scummy but it made it worse and felt really suspicious to me .

In addition, cop will still have to reveal his identity to confirm BRBP, since we cannot be sure the cop actually exists.

Well throwing WIFOM may or may not be a good idea.
Basically WIFOM is a "If I do this then... But if I do this then..." situation
For example
Let's say... we have doctor.
The most likely players killed here are lyby, NH, and probably me.
So we ask the doctors to protect us.
Scum would go like "But doctor might protect this guy, then again they may not. What if we kill a person besides these 3? But what if it's just a tactic so doctors won't protect them and expect us to kill somebody else? What should we do?"
Something like that

Oh, I didn't know that. And a doctor will always exist if there is a cop.
Follow the cop strategy isn't really good when there are more than 1 scum IMO.
