Oh I just realized Jinsei is 999 combo as well. That makes the highest combo in Medley Mode even higher once again :P

Punishment+kurenai+miku no geki ura+jinsei+fuun ura+shimedore+ao no senritsu+ doom noiz+ yozakura = 999 + 999 + 999 + 999 + 999 + 1414 + 976+ 961 + 986 = 8356 combo

That is seriously one long ass medley, which I will not play because it has 7 songs and 1 trash mountain

And for some reason playing Shimedore on the PSP is harder than playing it on the Wii CC. I have not been able to FC Shimedore on the PSP.

Oh... I didn't read up on it until now, but 新 DDR is the last new hardware version for DDR, all new updates and new songs are to be distributed via eAmuse.
So basically it's 新 Taiko no Tatsujin's distribution method.

Not sure if good thing or not, since it does screw over even more those without eAmuse, but makes it waaaaaaaay easier on importers since it's just one hardware import.

Is the other bemani games going the same way? (OST's being split into multiple seasons and all)

Remember when WTCNWP+ got colette almost a month later than the rest of Hong Kong (which is already late for another month than Japan)?
For Spring it is available right on release date :D

The title requirements was raised to 1.0M per song after Taiko 11, Shin-uchi or otherwise.

OK so I was playing Ura (the 3rd Kikyoku song) in Abekobe + Caramelldansen in Abekobe + Onara Haazukashikunai Yo
Not that any is over 9* lol

It looks like Caramelldansen in Abekobe is the only song I can get 800K+ regularly.
Even when I am relatively failing miserably (this play) I can get 840K+

Random trivia because I ain't exactly woke up

Remember the songs for the New Year tournament this year?
The theme is the three best things to dream about in the first dream of the year. (Mount Fuji, falcons and eggplants)
But Taiko has used that reference some time before that already.
The DS2 movie for getting 150 crowns. The background is of Mount Fuji, Don-chan's costume is a falcon, ans before catching the trophy he got an eggplant first.

It's like if you put that anus voice singing behind Classic masterpieces, like Beethoven's Ode of Joy, or Mozart's Turkish March, or the Ievan Polk- oh right. THEY ALREADY EFFING MADE IT

Well, at least seiya usually puts some musical effort on ALT's songs! Even if even here there are some tunes I really despice (like AI Date Pop), in my opinion the songs are closer to the feel that actual "real songs with real singers" provide, putting more effort on a good balance within the bg music and the voice with a certain rate of 'singability'. Hell, I sometimes find myself singing DOES NOT COMPUTE or 0/1 Angel! (also the music reworks are most of the times decent, like ALT's version of Invisible Lover) Same situation with Dormir's stuff.

Among all the Miku stuff (at least, the ones I unfortunately had to listen to so far), a good 75-80% of all the songs is solely focused to shove off of your face how lame and horrible Miku's voice is, putting barebones efforts to the bg music (or misleading with the singing voice) and also recycling vibes from other stuff. Again, it's still my opinion, but that's it

What, ALT sounds just as robotic as most of the Vocaloid songs, just that being made by a more professional suit (as opposed to just about anybody for Vocaloid) makes ALT songs more listenable than most of the Vocaloid songs.

And so far the only Vocaloid song that I've heard with Miku glorifying herself is World is Mine.

Sorry Lokamp, but this is where I draw the line. It takes an incredible amount of work to make a good Vocaloid song, as well as to produce the background music. The way you're going, you're disrespecting a lot of artists' work. Maybe the limited experience with Vocaloid songs you have are with less skilled producers, and I'm not denying there's a lot of them (yes, Sturgeon's Law), but you're not going to stand there and accuse people like cosmoP, supercell, Jin, kemu, 40mP and 164 as being unprofessional. They work hard and I don't know why at the very least you can appreciate that. Hell, even Tatsh made a couple of Vocaloid songs, are you calling him unprofessional as well?

No one claimed that they were trying to 'improve' a song with Vocaloid, it's just an arrangement. It's the same reason why other people remix classical pieces into different genres: they just want to interpret the song in a different way. Whether the arrangement itself is flawed or not is another matter: the point being no one here is being arrogant and claiming that their arrangement is better than the original. So please, stop putting misleading things like that up.

Music is subjective, Lokamp. One man's meat is another man's poison, I get that. And you're entitled to your own opinion and freedom of speech to post about it here. But please, for goodness' sake, think about how your expressions can affect other readers. If you say you are intentionally raising a fuss because you hate something that much; well, that's just immature. You could at least be a little civil about it. I'm sorry, but I really am very annoyed by the constant bashing.

Hm, I've never stated that my tastes have to be universal, neither that it's easy to compose a Vocaloid song. For the billionth time, it's just a personal opinion about a personal matter of subject about some digitalized voice's sound to my ears. I recognize that isn't easy to build a song with any kind of composing software, and respect the passion and power of people's effort of making those songs. After all, there is a valuable reason if most of those songs achieve lots of visualizations on video-hosting websites...

...But since I am really a no-brainer when I have to choose my words on a digital board in order to support an opinion or a thesis and may offend someone around here, I'm leaving. To offend people is absolutely not what I want to do when I post something anywhere in the Web, but if I'm so much annoying to people, I'll just slip away like a banana peel when this subject matter pops up :s

The other thing is the type of statements you tend to make.
There's a difference between "I don't like this music it is shitty" and "It's shitty to me and therefore the artist is a lazy bastard"
The first is subjective and I'm okay with that, even with over-the-top raging. The second, however... you're passing judgement based on your opinion, and I can't stand that sort of thing. Just watch what you post, and things should be fine, okay?

@tetsu: Unlike Dun Aonghasa, Lisdoonvarna and 'リスドンヴァルナ' are almost identical, with the addition of the second 'o' in the romanization. I can remove the second 'o' and it'll be just like Don Engasu. What do you think? (one of them is a much less tiring solution lol)


Finally I figured out this meta description thing after one year of lazy. Now we're just behind Wikipedia on search :) The meta shouldn't be in the header image or any widgets, it should have been right at the beginning of the page when the document type was declared.

Not sure whether I should keep the description line though (keywords is definitely not going to be deleted), since by putting it here it applies to every single page of the blog, potentially messing up the individual descriptions of each page (disadvantage of using a blog as opposed to a real website). Should I keep it or something?

I'll be playing around with the keywords some more in the next few days.

For me it is Taiko no Tatsujin Wikipedia --> TDM Wikipedia --> TT blog. Still very good.

@Lisdoonvarna: I think it should coin the actual place as closely as possible,
so double o Lisdoonvarna is better.

@Don Engasu: Searching "Don Engasu" only gives Taiko references now.
If we use the anglicized name "Dun Aengus" then the sound and the meaning can be better preserved.
("Dun" sounding like "dunk" without the "k", and the "ae" can be seen replaceable by an "e" like in "archaelogy")
In fact typing "Dun Aengus" in Google will extrapolate words like "map" and "history",
but for "Don Engasu" nothing will be extrapolated (not even "no Fuefuki")
This shows Google recognizes "Dun Aengus" as a place.

Still that's only a bit of etymological rant.

Hit both yellows at the same time at the loading screen before the song starts proper, then toggle with the blue buttons

U wot m8 you choose your HS after choosing your song,right with the options for hid-sud/mirror/whatever
It's always been like that
(of course,if you use network it's preset to the last HS number you used,but you still change it in the same screen
Derp can't read.That -is- the loading screen,where you set HS and all that lark.
Always been like that.
