BTW, glasses are not that cool, this is good enough.
You bean, this isn't bad. But your skills are far too rough, just like your lines! Minimalize the number of strokes it takes you to draw something; from simple shapes such as squares to complex ones such as facial features or clothes. If you have trouble getting the proper shape and have to make several strokes just to see what seems best, make sure you make them soft so you can erase them later and finish it off with a minimal amount of strokes.SSShaymin wrote:
Drew this some time ago. September, I think. Drawn with pencil, then scanned into my laptop, which explains the smudges of lead and sketching.
You nigger, you know how much that creeps me out. I mean, he looks like he came from a Lord of the Rings movie or something; stop messing around with Archer already!Aeidxst wrote:

They say that if we lived closer (like, real goddamn close) to the galactic center, the sky would look much like this, due to the massive amount of stars giving us light. We'd be in perpetual daylight.Static Noise Bird wrote:
Thanks for the tips! I'll try to apply them for the line art.Brian OA wrote:
The lines looks messy
Proportions, limbs (arms, legs) are composed of two main parts, joined by a knee or elbow. In any case these parts should be equal in length to each other. Typically half of an arm's length equals a head, though that only applies to grown men/women. In teenagers and children it's somewhat shorter, and in lolis/chibis it's dramatically shorter than that. Anyway in your pic Shizuru's (I think that's her, I haven't played either galge) forearm is too long. Since it's necessary that she keep her hand on that patch, just have her raised at a higher angle, while shortening the forearm.
Azusa is fine, although the top of her head is too... High.
Keep drawing pls
Then go encourage boat or aei to draw more or find more people with similar styles; don't discourage the others.Static Noise Bird wrote:
we need more boat and aei stuff, less generic anime poop

I really like the way you draw hands. I wish I could draw hands that well ;-;AshuraNoYami wrote:
Gonna dump my art here then... loved every single piece of art seen here, they're amazing... Wish I had more time for this nowadays...
I ain't that good but oh well... I also haven't drawn anything in over a year...Traditional Art - My favorite Drawings
I used my comp to mirror these 2 last drawings and make them a set of eyes, instead of a single isolated one... Does that make it mixed art, or is it still traditional?
Had forgotten how many I had 0.o And I still haven't uploaded all of them T.T
Thanks, the hands you see there are actually mine, that is to say, I positioned my hand as I liked and then drew what I saw. It's not that hard, just annoying as you become limited to working with a single hand. The shadowing is the most annoying, since it can change dramatically, with a single wobble...Tsusuko wrote:

more importantly, non-animei dont know about u but if i could draw perfectly in an anime style i'd be pretty damn happy
While that proves to be true most of the time, there are those like me who use an "anime"esque style as a way to improve our own concepts and notions.Quaraezha wrote:
Stop being so butthurt. He didn't say anime is not art nor is it not good.
Drawing in an non-anime style gives room for more realistic proportions and a better understanding of the human anatomy.
People who hastily tackle on drawing anime might overlook proper anatomy and will get used to drawing big eyes, same poses, unrealistic hair, etc.
OFF-TOPIC: Please relax and watch some anime ^^ it would do you good, as you seem to possibly have hypertension or high stress levels.tyrael6192 wrote:
no it's nothing to do with overlooking realistic styles and studies, it's because there's a ubiquitous circlejerk among people who think themselves to be above the practice of watching such animation, and this prejudice bleeds into the art-style as a whole and it gets on my tits
god damn it
this is all the more obvious if you look at the cartoon style he's trying to achieve... logically, it should suffer the same symptoms as you described for rushing into anime art, but still it's anime art specifically that he seems to be avoiding.
I could simply not avoid laughing my ass off at such a seemingly "intimate" remark.tyrael6192 wrote:
