We somehow skipped this campaign's beginning yesterday; the Android Taiko game will receive all of the 'Tales of' songs featured in Taiko games (that is to say, Karma by Bump of Chocken and the two Game Music), while the Android Tales of game will have a limited-time quest related with Taiko characters in which it can be won some Taiko gear for the game.

Nah the game is region-locked on Google Play only available through a specific service provider in Japan

Anyway remember that Shinkyoku Tori Houtai does not have Muzukashii/Oni nor any 765ori songs

EDIT: I'm bored. Releasing new map when I got home.

MOAR EDIT: Abyss is released to all with no conditions. Xillia and Karma requires you to play the Android Tales game. Also playing the latter two songs allows you a bonus wallpaper download.

Not exactly; Muzukashii and Oni were in iOS right out of the box, you just had to unlock them. It's completely absent in Shinkyoku Tori Houdai.

It will be pretty interesting if it does happen. It gives me the last bit of motivation I need to finally get a PS3 after being neglected it for soooooo long

The latest curvey PS3 model is still region free too so that's pretty much settles it for me

The only thing that can put any damper on this is if Namco decided to be a giant dick and region lock the game themselves.

Yes they can. The console has region encoding, but the choice of whether to region lock games or not are left up to the publishers themselves.

If Namco wanted to region lock Taiko they can definitely do so.

No they just made it optional to region lock games. Most publishers (actually all) decide not to.

Case in point: Persona 4 Arena is region locked on the PS3. Actually it's the only game region locked on the system.

Oh and speaking of region lock I looked at the project thread again for 3DS Hacking http://gbatemp.net/threads/nintendo-3ds ... on.340296/ and it looks like they're just waiting for a good opportunity to release it.

Better have money to buy whatever 3DS game that may be, and QUICKLY buy it before it gets sold out after this announcement.

I would never believe stuff from the English Wikipedia entry anymore. Checking the Japanese entry would be a tad more dependable.
I still remember when AC0 was denoted "Taiko no Tatsujin Maximum Tune" for some long time back. (That was a Wangan name you dingbats)
Still now it is called "Taiko no Tatsujin 15", so major trolling alert.

Anyways isn't "Taiko no Tatsujin: Tuner from Hell" a bit too gloomy for a legit Taiko title?
And again a tuner has more to do with a car (Wangan) than Taiko
(Musically, a tuner is only useful with instruments that exhibits various pitches so yeah.)

PS. (by searching) Tuner from Hell in Wangan is a title of Jun Kitami (北見淳)

Which may still be many months from now. They're being cautious to make sure their hack won't be used to make ROM loaders (but everyone knows it's going to happen anyway lol)

I just say let's wait the UStream; the PS3 game will eventually pop in here as the "earth-shaking" announcement, if it's true.

'cause if it is, this is 2013's best perfect-timing moment of the year! My brother is getting a PS3 on June/July if he passes the year, and I'll have some more reasons to play with PS3, aside Katamari Forever, that Ni no Kuni and Child of Eden <3

Meh I don't see any interesting stuff with the Wii U right now. 3DS and PS3 really are the best choices for Taiko right now, putting a CS Taiko anywhere else (excluding smartphones) is suicide.

Yeah the touchscreen is why I'm interested in Taiko being ported to WiiU, on consoles nothing beats touchscreen

Kinda unrelated to the above discussion, but @aqua: 影の伝説 / Kage no Densetsu is also from a TAITO game so it should be in the TAITO series?
Curiously you have included CAPTAIN NEO which is right next to Kage no Densetsu in CS6 and AC8.
Also consequently SPLENDOR is not the easiest song in the series.

Hey guise

Apparently there'll be a taiko segment in today's Nico Nico Radio thingy tonight at 10pm (Japan time) roight here:
