Hi everyone.

After a particularly nasty Windows 7 update, (I believe it was the SP1, althought I'm not sure) osu! stopped working for me and both it and osume would crash upon starting.

This was just like the problem benatkins2007 had about a year ago.
And just like him, no matter if I unstalled or repaired osu! or .NET framework, the problem just wouldn't go away.

The solution I found (from digging through here) was to put a copy of the 'System.comfiguration.dll' located in 'C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727' in the osu! folder. After that, it worked just fine again.

TL;DR: Copy 'System.configuration.dll' from '%windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727' into osu! folder.

Hmm, I'm not sure you're supposed to make threads about how to resolve problems... perhaps you could necro that old thread with the solution? Don't worry about it yet though, I'll wait for a second opinion on what to do about this.

Well the forum is called 'Technical Support'.

Try installing .NET Framework 2/3.

@Millhi - Sorry, I didn't know if I should have necro'd. So I made a new post just to be safe. Please do whatever needs to be done; I just wanted to help others with this problem if possible.

@Silent - Um, my post is on how I solved an annoying problem I got. Re/installing .NET didn't work for me, but copying the .dll file did.

This shouldn't happen unless your .NET installation is messed up - That DLL is supposed to be registered and accessible from anywhere on the computer.
