Or is it just me?

Wow, I just got the craziest sense of deja vu from this thread title. I could have sworn a thread with the exact same title was around before, but I searched and apparently it's all in my head.

I'm sure there are some people here who aren't anime fans. But since Osu is based on Ouendan, which is one of the Japanesest games ever made,* many of the people who are familiar about it are also familiar with other aspects of Japanese culture, like J-pop music and anime. :P

*Funny how it got "translated" into one of the Americanest games ever :P

Funny, I was wondering if I shouldn't make this thread because I had a feeling someone asked it before. But then I did. :P But I get deja vu, like, constantly. It's really annoying.

Dang it, I just lost the game. That happens to me a lot, too.

Well, I'm a very americany person, and I learned about Osu through my liking of the Americany game EBA, so I guess it makes sense.

I don't think of it as "anime" (because, iirc, anime is just the japanese word for "animation", ergo, cartoons? Like south park would be American anime, yes? As with the Simpsons, Family Guy, and what-have-you) but Japanese anime specifically, for me, it's based entirely on the show. I don't think any more or any less of something because of its country of origin.

I used to watch anime. I don't anymore. I don't really like any of the recent series out there, but do like the ones I watched a few years ago. Hmm...

I've never really been interested in anime. Maybe it's due to the fact that I just haven't found any that capture my attention for very long. (or maybe it's because the guy at my school who cosplays as "Shino" from Naruto every single day really creeps me out. >_> )

I did watch dragonball when I was younger, though.

I like the anime (or should I say manga?) art style over regular cartoons (although this actually has no set style). Also, when I watched cartoons like 5 years ago, none of them ever had a long storyline or anything like that, but some anime has really long arcs, which I prefer.

OT: If Iraq invented "anime" or "hentai" or "I-pop (Iraqi pop)" then Iraq would be really popular aside from terrorist stuffs.

I must have been in the vast minority when took some Japanese classes at my college, since I absolutely can't stand most anime (with some notable exceptions like Miyazaki). Although I must admit, those students who were into anime/manga probably retained more of what they learned. My Japanese got so unbelievably rusty after I stopped regularly practicing it. :(
