It's not because I had to wait, I just changed my mind and didn't want to change my flag after all.

Remember that MetalMario is one of osu!dev and a human as well. So not only that he needs time to make improvements on osu! game itself, he also have something more important to do irl.

Arguably there's only one person in charge of changing the flags, and that person is obviously unavailable at the current time.

If posting "change please" everyday would accelerate the process I would be doing so myself, but that's not the case.

Sadly, I fear you're right. More so, it should have been done a while ago.
The fact it wasn't and the overall abandonment of the thread are clear signs that the person in charge is not around, not even to lock it.
