1) None. As long as I get to have chat with other people. (e.g. Mason, Mafia)
2) I would want to have a role that could turn the tide on a game. Something like an Investigative role. (Preferably a mason-cop role.)
3) I would say MAYBE. If we really have no other leads whatsoever then a lurker-lynch would be fine in my eyes.

1. Mafia or independent. My scum hunting is mediocre at best so I feel much less useless when I'm not.
2. Serial Killer
3. As a last resort, when nobody stands out.
4. In large games, not much unless the initial stages of the game fall through to fluff. Small games, I use it as far as it can carry me.

By claiming BP, you essentially say, "If you kill me, your kill will be wasted." but as town, you want kills to be wasted.
By claiming vig, you set yourself up as a NK target, but by claiming BP, you ruin the chances of a NK being wasted.

guys can we get out of the way that RVS is a way to start a mafia game but is a VERY VERY VERY BAD WAY of starting a mafia game compared to RQS or role speculation.

Sure, it might have made me paranoid to believe that all bulletproof players are Serial Killers but I have a right to be. I'm claiming salvage is mafia with no discernable reason, but my reasoning, if I so disproved him, would also give me a slight disadvantage in the long run.
