[Archived] Osu! Start up error.

Hello guys, I am having a strange error when I try to start up Osu!

I run Osu!.exe a usual, but after about 1 second the window exits out and this pops up


Afterwards I find out that my Osu!.exe will be gone after the update.

What is even more strange is that when I exit out of the above Osume.exe and reopen it, it will update and make another Osu!.exe that will just repeat the process.

Help anyone? I have been able to run this game for a long time now. I have Windows 7, 4GB of Ram, Intel Core Quad CPU.

try deleting osu!.exe and run the updater again!

Nope, still does what happens in the image above.

Seems similar to this: t/92271 can you confirm that you have checked if this happens to you as well?

disable UAC through msconfig (start -> type msconfig into cmd/start search bar) and see if that helps. additionally, try running the updater as an administrator

Deleting your osu!.exe and running the updater will 100% fix this. You may need to restart your PC after/before doing so if you get an error when deleting it.

The file is located (by default) at c:\Program Files (x86)\osu!\
