Please zip your skin, but rename it to .osk. This will allow osu! to handle the file and automatically extract it to the correct place!
Maybe its better to let it here too...? Anyway, after editing X images, why not spend 10 seconds to convert it to .osk >_>MLGnom wrote:
[5.] There is an easier way to install skins.
All what user will need to do, is just opening the file.
You need to create .osk (osu! skin) file. How to do this I have explained below.
Creating .osk file with WinRAR
Creating .osk file with 7-ZIP
In short : You need to create .zip archive and simply change extension to .osk
The skins on the updater are hosted on different places. User-created ones usually are on mirror sites / puush.cocoboom91 wrote:

But MLGnom has already made tutorials and I think it is widely circulated.OsuMe65 wrote:

but also nice would be that you can delete files which arent needed in the skin, like that there's a file in which are all the file names of the files to go away

If you want to download a skin, there shouldn't be any renaming involved. All you gotta do is download it and if it's a .RAR or.ZIP, unzip it and put it in the appropriate directory. If you download it as a .osk, all you have to do is open it with osu!Deni_Louise wrote:
Oh. But how do you rename it? I want to download Cookiezi's skin, especially skins from forums. But that was the problem. Rename it to .osk, but I don't know.
Go download 7-zip. Once it's installed correctly you can right click on almost any archive to extract them.Deni_Louise wrote:
Wait a minute!!! I don't know how to unzip!!!!
