Well, I'm sure you guys have noticed the Halloween story competition I held.
But this time it's gonna be different. I have a story that I wanted to share myself that I will write here, and you guys can rate it in a scale of 10.

-------------

This is a true story that happened where I used to live.

I was told by my grandmother, back when I was only a kid there was a food cart that would only appear at the dead of night selling meat muffins.

The owner of the cart always wore a white mask that covered his whole face. You can only vaguely see the light of his eyes from the eye hole of the mask.
If anyone asks, he just says that he had a work accident that made his face looks horrifying.

From about 12 midnight to 4-5 am, he roamed the streets selling his meat muffins.
His muffins looked very appetizing. Each one is the size of a child's fist and was brimming with juice.
It was a verry delicious late night treat for anyone who was still awake at that moment.

But, there was a strange rumor.
Some people have said that some of the meat muffin cart customers have gone missing, and the muffins were made with the meat of it's own customers.

Though, most people just shook it off as a dumb rumor based on how the cart owner looked.

The same was true for my grandfather.

Wanting to disprove those rumors, my grandfather decided to buy some meat muffins from this cart one late night after work.

Tired from the extra hours he took working, he slowly walked to the cart that always appear at night.

Seeing my grandfather, the cart owner smiled - or at least my grandfather thought he was smiling, and greeted him.
The look and smell of the delicious meat muffins seemingly make all tiredness from my grandfather's body to instantly disappear.

He bought 6 and told the cart owner that he would want to eat the muffins at home.
My grandfather then was given a plain but nice looking paper box with all 6 muffins inside.

Satisfied, he started to walk home.

And he kept walking.

And walking...

This is strange, was the way home always this long?

My grandfather thought, he started to feel tired again.

But then he thought he heard footsteps behind him.

He turned his head around.

Nothing.

He decided to walk faster.
It's late so there was no one there and no lights aside from the street lamps.

He heard the footsteps louder.

He turned around again.

Still nothing.

My grandfather was panicking but he managed to calm himself.
"Maybe I'm just paranoid because I was too hungry." he thought.
So he decided to open the paper box and eat one of the meat muffins while on his way home.

But when he opened it.

There was only 5 left.

This time he was truly afraid.
He ran away past a few street lamps and then stopped at one to catch a breath.

Was there only 5?
He hasn't eaten any. Or at least he didn't remember that he had.

He have to check the box again.

This time, another was missing.

There was only 4.

My grandfather closed the lid immediately.
Catches a huge breath and sprinted all the way home.

When he got back home he still had the box in his hand.
Why did he not throw it away?
He don't even know himself.
But now that he's safe at home he has to make sure.

His shaky hand moved and grabbed the lid.
And in one swift motion, he lifted it up.

Gone...

Nothing.

There's nothing left.

My grandfather let out a scream and threw the box onto the table.

Only then did he saw what was inside the lid of the box.

Inside the lid was...

Was all 6 meat muffins stucked to it.

The end.

The atmosphere was really good and I must admit I didn't see that plot twist coming.
