General


  1. The way you used artist is not correct. Official source is showing their name as BOM&HI not Bom & Hi, BOM & HI or anything, without gaps and all uppercase.
  2. Tags Hi, Bom and Christmas are a duplicate from other metadata. These shouldn't be there because they have no function at all. Tags are for only and only for search function.
  3. If you added Hi's Korean name, you should ad also Bom's Korean name: 박봄
  4. Offset is incorrect, I'd say correct one could be around 1710. You can clearly notice it is off on 01:50:780 - . If possible, try to get the most accurate offset, eventually ask someone as my headphones are now broken, so I cannot determine it 100% correctly.
  5. The mp3 used does have quite low quality. Let me compare the mp3s and explain why the bitrate is technically lower than 128kbps.
    Here, you may see the 128kbps does show higher frequencies than your mp3 does, that means the mp3 you are using does have less information. To exaplain clearly - each sound file does have infomations about which frequencies which play at certain time. To reduce file size, codecs like mp3 remove higher frequencies, that's because human ear doesn't hear frequencies higher than approximately 23-24kHz. However, regular human will definitely hear up to 20kHz, thus removing anything below it is quite edgy. However that's not the point, the point is the amount of removed frequencies depends on bitrate (kbps) chosen. If you choose 96kbps, it will cut a lot, but if you want to go back, it is impossible from the 96kbps mp3, that basically means, if you use higher bitrate than original, it will just use values that were not removed and those "additional" values to fill the file size regarding the bitrate will be null values, that means song that is 192kbps may have quality of 64kbps, but not vice versa. Here, I can continue with comparison.
    If I consider the mp3 above is smaller than yours and does have 4kHz higher cap, it's definitely an issue here. Try using this mp3 (does have exactly same start and end, so there is no need to manipulate offset apart from that current offset is off as I already mentioned.
  6. If you want to mute any sound files, you have to use file provided by ranking criteria. Replace both soft-sliderslide and soft-sliderslide2 with it.
  7. Difficulty settings are not balanced for 2-diff set. AR is fine, OD has too big difference, HP is equal. I recommend these settings: Christmas - OD 6, HP 6 Normal - OD 4, HP 4. That makes less variable gap between difficulties and also makes HP of normal a bit more playable.
  8. Obviously the background images could be accepted, but well, if 1366x768 version (which is the best for beatmaps) can be found, it should be used as well. May you replace them to give slightly more professional feel and better quality in overall? (Christmas) (Normal)

  1. 00:04:417 (3) - This is rhythmically incorrect. It lands on no sound at all, which is not acceptable for a clickable object.
  2. 00:01:690 (1) - I would not be sure about these sliders, which end on nothing as well. I can list some here, which I think could be better:

  3. 00:22:962 (4) - This circle is definitely very off.
  4. 00:56:235 (3,4) - The rhythm emphasis does not sound very cool, because while 00:57:871 - is clickable, 00:57:326 - is the strongest sound in the combo, but isn't clickable, it lands on the end of slider. You should probably use 2 1/2 sliders, one on 00:56:235 - and second on 00:57:326 - eventually use circles here, but 00:57:326 - is definitely a place for a click in comparison with others in combo.
  5. 01:10:417 (4) - Same as previous, but this time it even lands on downbeat. Always be sure to make foreground clickable.
  6. 01:14:780 (1) - Probably even worse variating where you actually have no impact on an important sound, especially on downbeat. On start of slider, you click, on end of slider, you still "play something" by releasing the button, tho it's not really best to map for anyway, but on repeat, you just hold, no action. This should be changed.
  7. 01:32:235 (1) - Same as 01:10:417 (4) - .
  8. 01:36:599 (1) - Same as previous.
  9. 02:15:871 (1) - Same as previous.
  10. 00:04:962 (1,2) - If I consider the rhythm of the song and the way you placed new combos, this should be swapped.
  11. 02:10:417 (1,3) - Same as previous.
  12. Flow of the whole map seems cool, but you are overusing jumps considering it is hard and considering the difficulty of Normal. Please, be sure to limit yourself and use jumps only on very important sounds, for example downbeat, sounds like 00:51:871 - and other significant sounds. I won't be able to accept this kind of variability, you may say this is "the way you do it", but I must consider it as an issue, it shouldn't be problem to make spacing more consistent and use jumps only on very important sounds, the flow is fine, so you just place those objects as previously, but with constant gaps, apart from those important sounds.

  1. 01:58:962 (2) - This is rhythmically not correct. Making the downbeat clickable makes more sense as it is the most significant sound here. Especially for lower diffs, it's important to make important stuff clickable.
  2. 02:11:508 (1) - Same as previous.
  3. 02:16:417 (1) - Same as previous.
  4. 02:49:144 (2) - Similar as previous, 02:49:689 - should be rather the slider and 02:49:144 - should be circle to divide the voice from the drum part. + To make strong sound clickable.
  5. 01:58:417 (1) - The new combo is too late, it should start on 01:59:508 - because the downbeat should be rather clickable.
  6. 02:02:780 (1,2) - You should swap the new combo because 02:03:871 - is definitely more significant than 02:02:780 - otherwise it breaks word in vocals + regular pattern.
  7. 02:12:599 - Combo too, should be clickable as I said previously.
  8. 03:00:599 (4,1) - The combo is longer than supposed to, you should swap these two new combos. Then you should also swap 03:04:962 (3,1) - for same reason.
  9. 00:52:962 (3,4,1) - This pattern is kind of a disaster. Firstly, the stack should not be used for lower difficutly. You should keep one rhythm for stacking, which was 00:18:599 (4,1) - , but making it variable may seem quite confusing and lazy especially on normal difficulty. 2 repeats don't work that much. I feel like this part is missing some creativity, everything happens on 2 coordinates, respectively, there are 4 hits on 453;216 and 2 hits on 446;91 that makes it all too repetitive, just comming from one side to another back and back again. 2 slider would work much better.
  10. 01:04:962 (2) - You shouldn't make any inconsistencies on lower diffs, so this should have 1,3x spacing from previous object as all other objects.

Some may seem to be duplicate, but these are to fix metronome on places where it was possible. Also, on places, where slider starts in different timing section than it ends on, you have to manually fix it in .osu file or eventually changing the pattern. Some may seem to be duplicate, but these are to fix metronome on places where it was possible. Also, on places, where slider starts in different timing section than it ends on, you have to manually fix it in .osu file or eventually changing the pattern. If you don't know how to do this, update the map without fixing them and let me know :)

I was just wondering... why are soft-sliderslide.wav and soft-sliderslide2.wav not silenced properly nor reaching the 100ms length? I can observe a pretty tiny wave on the first ms. I am not sure if that's unrankable, just being a bit curious.
I didn't check the whole timing, but some sections are very off and they are easily noticeable, such as 00:27:847 - being off for more than 50+ms. I also don't think that's the correct BPM on other sections either, like in 01:58:402 - , when 01:58:711 - is clearly slower than all the other parts, therefore it should have a lesser value.
There are also a lot of things that you might want to take into consideration for future mapping.

Hitsounds are too random.
AR is too high for the BPM you are mapping... 7? On a Normal diff?

[Easy]

  1. 01:58:402 (3,4) - Could be a slider and sound way better, it would also make more sense in terms of density if you compare this with the pattern on Christmas.
  2. 02:42:558 - 02:46:955 - Why are you suddenly ignoring these beats? I can understand the first one if you tell me "because there are no vocals", that'd be """fine""", but the second one? Definitely a slider or even a circle you make more sense rather than leaving that as a blank space.
  3. 02:50:791 (6) - You really don't want to do this.
  4. 03:13:685 (1) - A Clap with 50% volume green line? That's too random and high. On a piano sound you're placing that... sound, I don't even know what that is. And after lowering that green line, 03:16:412 (1) - this spinner should have even less volume, you want to silence it!

This difficulty has a lot of inconsistencies and mistakes regarding emphasis. You really want to take a re-check at that difficulty as a whole. Some beats that should be emphasised are not; and vice versa.

  1. 00:27:029 - Weird how you didn't place anything there.
  2. 01:16:957 (3,4) - Hmmm... woah, this is... very weird. I wouldn't say anything if the spacing would have been on 01:16:412 (2,3) - because (3) is very emphasised, but... (4)? Doesn't seem very convincing.
  3. 01:33:307 (1,2,3) - Same here.
  4. 02:15:831 (6,1,2) - Again... the same. Just pay attention to what you are listening, don't map just because "it's pretty", that's a wrong idea.
  5. 02:32:205 (4,5,6) - Considering how you are building 1/2 slider-patterns, this could be easily misread, you are supposed to put 1/4s closer, a'ight? You can see the difference right after this pattern on 02:35:478 (1,2) - , so doesn't seem intentional at all.
  6. 02:49:672 - This part is bad, plays bad, sounds bad. Let me explain you everything. 02:49:973 (5) - is being mapped the same way as 02:50:518 (6) - , but why? They have different sound, so why would you map them the same way? And then, you have 02:51:609 (9,1) - that weird transition that flows pretty weird. And well... I'm not talking about the weird spacing in this pattern at all, but it's damn odd, too.
  7. 03:13:685 (1,1) - The spinners attack again.

You must use the silence file provided by RC. Without any length. I think the hitsounding fits well to the song. Dunno whether other things are really important, but I am not gonna check right now :D

I checked rest of Yuii-'s mod, I wouldn't consider everything as issue, but yeah, at least the emphasis should be improved. For the slow part, I don't think using lower BPM values is needed, because it seems to be variable within the pattern anyway.
We'll see what happens, let's hope we can fix this without much trouble :)

Edit: So... I checked the msp, but regarding the mod above, I feel like there are still places that deserve emphasis (most likely in form of jump) over those which are actually emphasizes. Try to go through hard difficulty and think about heavy, punchy sounds and realize whether they are emohasized or not, eventually remove those jumps from soumds which aren't heavy or punchy. If you are in a trouble, I may provide you some examples, eventually list of places where it is. I cannot do this right now because of time and no PC access, so if you need assistance, I'll be able to help you tomorrow, respectively today, late.

i expect people to complain about the new timing because it has variable bpm so let me explain some things

Yes, i noticed that the bpm was supposed to be constant 55 bpm from start to finish, but the band failed badly to keep that speed, so we couldn't even use an averaged bpm to compensate their inaccuracy. Using resets with the same bpm is pointless if you end up needing more of them because they will simply sound off again eventually.

btw, because the diff's were remapped after the timing change, i will need to make some small changes in the timing again (nothing that will require more remaps anyway)
