1. I'm getting an error while updating!
Disable your antivirus, then try updating again. Some antivirus programs report the newest version as a false positive.
Most false positives come from Avira - if you have successfully updated, please help us solve this problem by submitting your updated osu!.exe to them as a false positive. The more people do this, the quicker this problem is solved for everyone. https://analysis.avira.com/en/submit
2. I disabled my antivirus, but the update still won't work!
Your antivirus may have left a botched update copy in the folder that's causing errors. Delete osu!.exe, then run the updater again.
3. I'm on a Mac and the updater isn't working / osu! keeps crashing!
The latest update completely broke the Mac version for some people. It has been heavily tested on OSX 10.9 Mavericks, but earlier OS versions may still have problems - if you are suffering from this problem, please keep an eye on this thread and wait for a new Mac version to be released: t/56460
