I have been mapping for quite a while now (like 2-3 years cumulative time mapping, factoring in breaks), and I have never really interacted with the mapping community besides modding. I have a singular other friend who maps, and we don't talk very much. I have more "niche" music/map tastes that don't overlap with the majority of mappers, which leads me to stray away from most mapping servers/communities. It just seems very difficult to find a place I fit into when it comes to the mapping community, and I think this has made it hard for me to be continuously motivated to interact with osu in general (it probably has hindered my mapping progress as well).
This isn't a super big issue to me, but it would be nice to interact with like-minded people and share feedback about maps or just good maps in general. I am just curious how people get into their cliques in this community.
If you're curious, I like Dariacore/Hyperpop/Indie-Rock songs. You can look at my favorite beatmaps to get a pretty good idea of that. Obviously, there are enough people within this genre niche that you can find a variety of ranked maps in it, which is why I put "niche" in quotes.
