in vsrg/ mania, i often try to experiment with different kinds of patterns to emphasise various types of music so for complicated music or dubstep, mostly if i feel like it i will go with detailed tech mapping like note by note editing to emphasise the music uniquely, however if i don't feel like it i'll just use conventional mapping styles to make maps simple but with lesser signature creativity in it
for music with simpler or repetitive tunes, i'll try different unorthodox way in mapping it without making it look too alienating or overemphasising its music, well i just love trying out different ways of emphasising arts because it's fun
so yes if i'm in the mood, the song choice definitely influences what type of map i'll be creating, in terms of creativity, playability, uniqueness, unorthodoxy, if it's a banger (as in very high hype energy), i will map it into an SV map instead - there's just no fixed flow in how i map, just like there's no limit to creativity too - go big as much as you can
