how to warm up properly

I kinda play this game mode on and off now and I have found that whenever I come back after however long it's been since I last played, it's a 50/50 between

  1. I do fine the first time I play a song, then I do worse on the same song if I restart and it just gets worse and worse. And then if I try to push myself to play any of the maps I usually play, it just makes me feel nauseated until I end up quitting because I'm too uncomfortable when playing.
  2. I do fine the first time I play and then I start to get comfortable again and eventually I'll go on to set a new score or something.

I think the issue is with how I "warm-up" since whenever I get back on I mostly end up starting with a low 4* map and then playing the same high 3* - mid 4* maps I always do. I feel like this is making me hit a bit of a wall. what is the best way to warm myself up so I can start improving again.

Best to warmup going for plays that you can 98-99%+

Get used to the feeling of tapping and reading, slowly ramping up your difficulty. A variety of maps helps as well, there's plenty to find.

I feel like you somewhat have the right steps, but general accuracy is being ignored (or you have a different target range), which results in poor consistency throughout your session.

Some sessions are also not a 100% success, meaning you will have bad sessions, it happens !
But say you don't do good on jumpstream files for the day.. play some jack, maybe. You'll slowly improve at your reading from just jack patterns alone, and perhaps even improve your timing.. That takes a lot more time though. Or just find a different pattern set that seems fun to play, it's definitely important to just have fun !

for warm up do stuff you can easily acc at 98% for stable 97.5%ish for lazer since anything harder and your hands will warmup the same but less comfortable

for retrying songs and getting worse, its just how it is, its a fact and no matter what you do it wont be fixed and you gotta accept it. to get vack into improvement just sightread alot of charts and get an S by playing it once every session. if youre playing a less popular keycount like 5k or 6k or ssomethingg not usually played then look for map packs and simply S those after grinding

Start simple and ramp up the intensity is what I do for warmup(similar to what they said). Depending on the weather and how I feel that day, the warmup can be fairly quick, or take a while.

Analogy-> When u start a car, you don't go flogging the engine when the car is still cold. Ya drive at a low rev range and let the car properly warm up before its safe to start flogging the engine.

Start by playing something technically difficult then decrease the technicality and increase the physicslity
