Problem details:
When I launch osu! and go to the song selection screen, I hear a sound like typing some keys.

1. This problem occurs on the song selection screen (solo and multi), the edit screen, and the settings screen.
2. Restarting the game will not resolve the issue.
3. Restarting Windows will resolve this issue.

I checked to see if some keys was being held down, but all keys were in unpressed state.

osu! version: Stable 20250815 (latest)

Try checking with https://drakeirving.github.io/MultiKeyDisplay/ if it also happens outside osu!

I checked on this site, but there seem to be no issues.

When I previously encountered problem in the game, I verified my key inputs on another site, and there were no issues then either.

Does this issue still happen when you unplug your keyboard? If you can then could you send the link to the site you verified your key inputs on? and when did this start happening?

I checked here. I use a Japanese layout keyboard, I can check all keys on this site.

Also, I noticed something else yesterday, a similar problem occurred in other music playback software.
For example, in Synthesia, a piano game, the music doesn't play normally, it feels like the first note keeps looping. (In osu!, the typing sound looped repeatedly, but in other software, it feels like the first 0.1 seconds of the audio source keeps looping.)

This might not be a problem limited to osu!, it could be an issue occurring in music playback software in general.

Did you try updating or rolling back audio drivers / Windows updates (check for additional updates)? Does this also happen with another output device?

I reinstalled the drivers for my regular audio devices. Since I've restarted now, osu! is playing normally. Windows had also automatically updated, so I rolled back to the previous version.

I'll check things for a while now.

Thanks to everyone who offered their opinions!

I think I've figured out the cause, so I'm adding this here.

Cause: AT2020 USB microphone
Solution: Disconnect the AT2020 USB from the PC

I found a post on Reddit describing symptoms similar to mine, and the solution mentioned there worked for me.
