To start off,
I've been playing osu! for over a decade off and on but I only recently started to get involved with the community. Watching more youtube videos and streams, paying more attention to tournaments, and talking to other players. My 30th birthday is coming up on the 17th of September and I decided I wanted to spend a day the weekend before or after (date tbd) with the osu! community and actually make connections with you all in person. This LAN is a gift from me to myself and the community. I look forward to meeting you all.
As for the details of the tournament;
Florida LAN (FLAN) will be an annual one day open rank double-elimination tournament. This year it will be held mid september in Jacksonville, Florida at Obscura Competitive Gaming Cafe's new location (under construction but will open well before the event).
FLAN is being put together in partnership with the FOE (Florida osu! Events) team.
Mappools will be posted day of.
Prize pool will be updated as I get the prizes in as they are personally funded by me. Any cash contributions made will be divvied up 50/30/20% respectively (donation link will be posted soon).

Update as of 8/7: We are just about done getting everything set up. We are still waiting on a confirmation date from the venue. They closed the previous location and are working diligently to open the new location. The event may need to be pushed back to give people enough time to plan. I will make an update on that once the venue is officially open and I get confirmation from the owner. He has already greenlit the event he just can't give us a for sure date until he's actually set up.
A couple other details of the tournament have changed to create as an enjoyable experience for everyone as possible and those details will be included in the official tournament forum post once we get that confirmation date sorted.
For now I will share with you all that we will be raffling off some prizes during the event one of which will be the new Wacom Intuous Pro tablet! Every $10 donated to the event on Ko-Fi will get you a raffle entry!
