I've been trying to find a mobile rhythm game like osu for a while now, and all I have been seeing are rhythm games with the story mode. Does any1 have a game like osu that has no story mode? Yall plz share it wit me.

adofai? idk I've never tried it but its literally a game about some fire and ice balls or something so I guess it's similar to osu because of "circles"

I've heard of Phigros, Deemos, Muse Dash and Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage. Never played 'em but heard they be bangers.

Oh and also Piano Tiles 2. That was the peak but now that the IP is sold off to someone else, it's gone down to shi.

I've actually played Cytus before I started osu! Then there was Deemo and Cytus 2. Also Rhythm Heaven and Rhythm Control was pretty fun. Altho, they're both pretty old lol

phigros and cytus II (fans say the sequel is better, but i haven't played it) are high quality. phigros is free (without ads or even DLC, i would highly recommend it); it has a custom charting community, but i haven't tried it out. if you like the game you can buy another one from the same studio called rizline (also high quality). there are a lot of unique games on mobile, so just scrolling through whatever appstore you use could get you results

live-service games like project sekai (colorful stage in the west) could also work, although proseka doesnt have an option to for accuracy scores/rating. i know d4dj does, but it's rhythm game elements arent as high quality (imo, i don't know the popular consensus) and the community is smaller. world dai star is praised for its' gameplay, but i don't know it that well and it doesn't have an english/global server nor translation

if you don't care about fluff and only want the rhythm game part, sonolus is great. it can be hard to set up but it's perfect for people who just like the gameplay and want to get right to it

i would try out a few live-service games to see if one works for you; a lot of them have gacha elements so if you don't like that then sonolus is probably best

let me know if you want more specific recommendations!

this might be niche but CYTOID!!!! it's also a community-run game and looks a lot like osu, however the devs got into a silly lawsuit and the community is slowly dying :(

they're all really nice people though, I know a few of the top players even, you can find them just chilling in the Cytoid discord server. honestly it's a fun game, heavily advise you check it out ATLEAST once

otherwise just play osu!droid or something

Cytoid download page for IoS and Android
Cytoid Discord server Invite (might not be permanent invite)
Osu Mania Hater
play rotaeno, it is funny game were you need to rotate your phone

I like Phigros a lot; it does a lot of interesting things with its notes and is no-ad/free. The only other one I know is the new mobile app for Friday Night Funkin', although I know that ppl have varying opinions on that...

A lot of people here recommend Phigros, that's interesting, but don't forget almost all of the mentioned games include a story mode, including Phigros. (Not spoiling.)

Maybe something that actually doesn't have a story would be nice.

Unsure if Sonolus fits your requirements or not...

just download Malody or MalodyV if you don't care about stories or paying stupid song packs and just want to download and play any user generated content/ maps you want to instead

it is basically free to play like osu, except it has more modes like vsrg/ catch/ jubeat/ taiko/ beatstream/ laneless vsrg/ lovelive school idol style 9k/ maimai but just doesn't have clicking circles mode
you can import any maps including osu maps into it to play and you can chat with randoms in it too though i mostly play on vsrg (mania) and taiko

they also have a user-friendly editor to edit those maps in their respective modes as well, it's also a plus that there is another community there creating maps to play on Malody too

edit: and the best part is you can play on OFFLINE anytime and anywhere you want

official page: https://m.mugzone.net/
download page for MalodyV: https://m.mugzone.net/wiki/2147
playstore: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.mugzone.emiria&hl=en
steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1512940/Malody_V/ (pc version)

if you insist on playing osu on mobile then try opsu! it's basically the same as osu but is able to play on mobiles with unsatisfactory UI

still it's a fun thing to have to be able to click circles on mobile on any osu map you want to anytime you feel like it
unfortunately it's gone from the playstore now so idk

edit: opsu! official page: https://itdelatrisu.github.io/opsu/

(p/s: it's crazy that nobody mentioned Malody)

I have played a lot of Phigros and I don't even know about or care for the story.
