So, in short i'm having an issue increasing my speed,

i'm finding that i'm at a point in skill now where i can relatively comfortably play most patterns at a set speed and feel like what's holding me back is no longer my reading but rather how fast i can actually tap, i'm not sure if there's other people who are in this state or have just recently overcame this, but im wondering if anyone has any tips to increase speed, i'm thinking about upping my ss slightly and maybe trying a bar skin, but i feel like the only time i can set good speed scores is if i warm up for an hour prior and down 200mg of caffeine.

any help is greatly appreciated

copy paste link to my advicr thread lol

ok i had this problem and setting A ranks helped me but you probably aim for A ranks instead of S ranks (or sightread S ranks like how i did which is a horriblr idea lol) so yeah ill try help

oh shit youre 4k doing like 8 star stuff oh shit i cant help here lol. uhhhh, if you were consistently increasing in speed before and it just stopped then its a skill wall and... uhhhhhh... uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... try wrist down or wrist up? i used to play wrist down and then tried wrist up and immediately played better. i also play speed best when i tense my fingers instead of relax so you can try. idk man if you were a 6k player like me id say to just play brackets because brackets make you good at everything but you play 4k you dont get brackets, you get trilly willy instead or smth. i once heard from somewhere "the best speed players know how to manip a little atleast" or smth like that so if youre like me and physically cannot manip then try learn? yeahhhh ill stop trying to help its clear idk

I mean, not much a lot of us can say. I guess try to push speed in a less warm state? I get that increases your skill floor, but I feel like by bringing the floor closer to the ceiling you can figure out how to push the ceiling more easily (wow taking that literally gives me a different perspective), or at least that's how it has been for me. Like, try while half as warm time-wise or with less caffeine (though I'm not one to talk about caffeine/sugar regulation, I have a slight carbonated drinks addiction).
