Im starting playing 5* dt maps and 7* maps, and I was wondering how I could go about learning to play HD, I know the "play more" thing but I would like to know some method to improve with the mod, Idk nothing about HD or how to read it, tell me what I can do :3

i watched a 14 year old hidden play and i think a decent piece of advice is to play without HD and adjust reading to HD. basically, whatever HD does read it like that on no mod because then you can slowly adjust
i dont play taiko but like my idea makes sense and is how i learnt to sightrrad correctly when i played fnf. basically just play like usual but try read wherever you gotta and when your eyes drift to normal area then look back, it works asyour eyes get used to reading a note there and hitting? idk tbh but it makes sense ig

HD relies more heavily towards listening to the song.
But since this is taiko we're talking about, sightreading should also be taken to account.
I say you start playing with HD on lower diffs. Even if you miss, just keep playing and get used to the mod.

I dont think there is a method, just play more HD and improve your NM acc. I used to attempt HD on and off for a while, not very often, and after my NM skill improved to a certain point, I had a jump in HD skill, enough to find the mod fun rather than frustrating
Start with maps that have easy bpm and sv -- farm maps with simple patterns, etc. that you can comfortably play NM. Most efficient way to get used to reading HD is on stuff where you can focus solely on the HD aspect, and not have to worry about anything else.
When you're playing HD, don't overthink, just try to play like you do normally and trust your instincts, have faith in your rhythm sense. It might be hard to blink at first and you'll get dry eyes lol but that goes away with time

You seem to like speed just a bit too much. HD in my opinion is about control. Play <120-175 BPM maps (the lower the better), see if you can maintain your stability. After then, HDHR them with score v1. The hardest is when you HD slow maps because it really needs you to feel the song, that's why I suggest to use HDHR to accelerate the process.GreyGerm wrote:
