I have gotten really sick of the current rules although well thought out do not contain the essence of a good criteria (I'm not too knowledgeable of HOW to fix them) they take a lot of soul out of many maps.
I feel that although many of the rulesets make sense and don't seem that strict you could almost always look at ranked section and see the exact same maps everywhere. take for example mint although they map very well I could probably fall asleep from how similar the patterns to her high star maps are. She makes a wide variety of mapping styles which are fun to play, but i don't think I've ever seen a map above 6* that doesn't look like if someone put random on a map changed the bpm and called it a different map.
I should note recently we did get an "epsilon tech" map ,and I am almost disappointed because it doesn't seem like any of the top 50 got an ok score they all played it like a champ and some even 99% it in all fairness how come we don't see many gamma-epsilon maps it seems to stunt the communities growth ever since I reached top 8000 I felt like all competition stopped because ranked stopped working like a ranked section and started favoring one style of mapping which no one at that level saw as a challenge. It was more like a job to improve in them unless you were some lucky break who enjoyed that style. I am plenty motivated to keep playing every day to push myself but I don't feel the result of my work because there is none. the gap between farm and skill maps is so high that even after 10 months i can only do a moderate amount better at 6.5* rice than I could farm all those months ago. I know about the sunny rework, but what good will it do for epsilon players who only have 1 ranked map and a dt mod. or gamma/delta players who aren't good enough to play many maps on dt but are also too good for many maps on nm
where are the ranked maps that can push us?
and sidenote: the sunny rework isn't coming up sometime soon either so even reaping the benefits of that is worthless until it comes out of the wip phase
