So I have a touchscreen laptop and just for fun I tried Osu!mania with the touchscreen. Safe to say, I play with keys way better. That's besides the point, though.
Currently, you cannot customize where the tap points are, which leads to be very spaced out on touchscreen laptops like mine, and the lanes do not match up with the touch points. (shown here with my bad game play:https://youtu.be/9U5pSBgFsJk)
My suggestion is this: make some kind of dedicated touchscreen settings under the Osu!mania settings in order to customize where the tap points are, and possibly making the skins dynamic to where they adjust to said tap points.
As the mobile support improves for lazer, I bet touchscreen support for laptops will too, but I believe having some kind of customization for the tap points would make things easier.
