Approach to improve Fingercontrol?

I've been playing for a while now, and my aim is far better than any of my skills. So, I'm looking to improve my streams and finger control. I’ve always used single tapping, and alternate tapping for bursts and streams. However, I’ve noticed that I've developed a habit of always starting with my index finger when I begin bursts/streams. (And starts with middle finger when there's doubles for some reason) This makes it harder for me to alternate effectively. I’m wondering how I can break this habit and alternate more freely, How I can improve finger control.

Also, I could play FC high 5* in a map that are heavily aimed. But I can't even fc some 4 stars with a lot of bursts/streams. That’s why I'm focusing on improving in this area. Any advice or map recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

You can definitely break the habit if you believe it’s holding you back but it’s a relatively common thing that a lot of people do.

The easiest way to do this would be to play some slower, low star maps where you can really focus on your tapping. Make a conscious effort to start all streams, bursts, doubles and triples with the alternate finger or finger of choice and do this for as long as it takes for you to start doing it automatically, then move onto higher star maps.

For finger control/alt maps do the same thing, start out slow making an effort to alternate each note. This will be a lot harder but practice makes perfect.

Your actual finger control, tapping speed and reading are all things that will improve on their own so there’s not much you can do there apart from playing more maps specific to those skill sets.

Thanks, I’ll try to! Do you mind giving me maps recommendations? If possible, I’d like to try 4* and below. I really don’t know where to start
