You'll need a lot of skill and maybe a bit of practice to clear this one on Formidable. Good luck!

Feedback is appreciated.

  1. Update 1: Flipped entire beatmap vertically, changed difficulty name from "Insane" to "Formidable."
  2. Update 2: Added Friendly mode, made minor edits to Formidable mode.
  3. Update 3: Added background, changed colors. It's prettier now!
  4. Update 4: Used distance snap to adjust most of the beats in Friendly mode. In the simpler sections, using the distance snap can lead to overlapping beats, which can be confusing, so I've chosen to purposely leave some of the beats as they were. Adjusted drain on Formidable to make things slightly easier.
  5. Update 5: In Formidable mode: used distance snap to adjust most of the beats, improved the general feel of the beatmap, and slightly lowered overall difficulty.
  6. Update 6: Fixed small section in Friendly with a hidden note. Difficulty and drain reduced again on Formidable. Easy version coming soon!

Well, offset seemed a little too soon. Didn't (rather, couldn't) check the rest.

Um... I really don't think the offset is too soon. I've listened to the intro at full speed, 3/4 speed, 1/2 speed and 1/4 speed, and it sounds spot on every time. It'd be good to get another moderator's opinion. (The timing sections towards the end are there to change the sample set, so those aren't in time with the song, but all the beats are timed to the first offset, so that's not a problem.)

Why couldn't you check the rest of the beatmap? If it's too hard for you, can't you just go into the editor and hit the play button? :P

Several questions I'd like a moderator to answer:

  1. Is the offset really too soon, like Echo said? It'd be great to get a second opinion, since we're in disagreement.
  2. I turned the difficulty sliders down on Friendly mode, so that it's fairly easy to clear even if you miss a lot of beats. Does the beatmap need an even easier mode in order to be ranked?
  3. Is there anything else that needs to be fixed before this can be ranked, or can it be ranked as is?
Of course, any additional feedback is good, too. Thanks, guys!

The timing sections aren't needed. 4700 offset and 110 BPM work well throughout the song.

Now when you want to map a song to the lyrics, it is important that spacing is 100% perfect. Otherwise anybody who has not heard the song before will be screwed. Some places on normal that should be respaced:
21:33 - Most of the beginning notes of that song can be respaced. They're a bit confusing as they're hopping all around in actualy beat distance.
24:60 - The 4. Same @ 33:33
36:60 - the 6 is too close based on 1x distance spacing. As is the 10 of that combo.
1:20:24 - the 4 again.
1:27:88 - All of the sliders in that combo can be spaced further
2:06:47 - All of that stream can be spaced closer together.

And then the song just loops. But anyways, I think those changes and more should be done to this map if you'd like to keep the same feel it has going for atm. I reccomend just going through the entire song with a set distance snap (1x seems to be what you used for some parts) and just readjust all the notes.

Also, as for the insane mode.. I can't pass it. I missed 3 notes early on and I ended up just dying due to a quick drain rather than missing notes. I think you should make those settings easier, as I don't like maps that become insane just due to difficulty settings.

The timing sections aren't used for timing, they're used to change between the Normal and Soft sample sets. They're necessary for that reason.

I'll look into the spacing suggestions, and I'll drop the difficulty on Formidable just a little bit.

I'm done resnapping Friendly mode. See if it's less confusing now. ;)

I'll resnap Formidable later. Also, any other suggestions?

OK, both modes have been resnapped for correct spacing. As stated above, some of the beats were left as they were, because it actually gets more confusing when they overlap.

I think this beatmap is ready to be ranked; can a mod confirm this? Any feedback and additional suggestions will be appreciated.

On "friendly"
02:49:29 - This note is like hidden, i didn't pressed it three times in a row.

Also make an easier version?
Or if you're lazy to make one, try making your "formidable" easier.
Miss two notes in a row = fail.

imo no one would play that, it will be put into waste and you also waste your time making that.

I'm away from my computer right now; I'll look into fixing that note when I get back, and I'll change the drain and difficulty settings on Formidable.

Does anyone else think an easier level is needed? I think Friendly is easy enough because of the really small drain and difficulty. It's definitely not as hard as a typical 4-star level.
James
Newbies who would like to play this song cant pass your "friendly" because of some parts that are *kinda* confusing. :)
