  1. SMS will feature mappools with only marathon-length beatmaps. These beatmaps have at least a 5-minute drain length.
  2. All maps in SMS will have freemod enabled.
  3. SMS will be held in a 4v4 format on osu!Standard. Teams for SMS will have at least 4 players and at most 6 players.
  4. The rank range for SMS will be 1,000 - 99,999 with BWS applied. There is NO rank buffer.
  5. SMS will be a Team VS ScoreV2 tournament with a double-elimination bracket.
  6. Team registrations for SMS are international.

  1. BWS (badge-weighted seeding) will be used. BWS artificially ranks up players based on the number of profile badges they have.
  2. Only osu!Standard badges count. Mapping badges, beatmap spotlights badges, and badges from other modes do not count.
  3. The BWS rank for each player will be calculated using the following formula:

  1. Remember that BWS is not intended to reflect solo play skill.
  2. You may find sample BWS values here.

  1. Players can submit a team registration here.
  2. Players who do not have a team can submit an LFT (looking for team) advertisement in the Discord server.
  3. The team captain must join the Discord server and change their nickname to their osu! IGN.
  4. Players must stay in the rank range until registrations close.
  5. Commentators, streamers, and GFX artists are the only staff members allowed to play/staff concurrently in SMS. Players eliminated from the tournament may request to join as referees or mappool playtesters. The tournament admins, mappoolers, existing playtesters and referees are NOT allowed to play in the tournament.
  6. Team names may have a maximum of 18 characters.
  7. Offensive and/or derogatory team names are NOT allowed.

As a reminder, all players are expected to adhere to and follow the osu! Community Rules and In-Game Chat rules. Failure to do so will result in an individual or team disqualification from the tournament based on the severity of the infractions. Infractions that are severe enough may result in a blacklist from future Suicune tournaments.

Qualifiers
  1. Qualifier lobbies will be held periodically during the qualifiers weekend. Teams may sign up for a qualifier lobby that is the most convenient provided that the lobby is not full.
  2. A maximum of 4 teams may play in a qualifier lobby.
  3. Qualifier lobbies will be played on Head-to-Head instead of Team VS. The scoring system will still be ScoreV2. NF will be enforced on all maps.
  4. The qualifier lobby referee will invite the team captain at least 5 minutes before the lobby.
  5. Team captains will be sent invites to the lobby. It is the team captain's responsibility to invite their teammate.
  6. Each lobby will run through the mappool once.
  7. All maps in the mappool will have freemod enabled. NF will be enforced.
  8. Allowed mods are be HD, HR, EZ, and FL. EZ will have a 1.7* score multiplier. FL will have a 1.2* score multiplier.
  9. If a team shows up to a lobby late, they may replay missed maps AFTER the rest of the teams have finished the lobby.
  10. If a player disconnects during a map, they may replay missed maps AFTER the rest of the teams have finished the lobby. If a player disconnects more than once, the disconnection must occur within the first 30 seconds of the map for this rule to apply.

Bracket Stage
  1. All maps will be played with NF enforced with ScoreV2 enabled.
  2. The match referee will invite the team captain at least 5 minutes before the match.
  3. Team captains will be sent invites to the lobby. It is the team captain's responsibility to invite their teammate.
  4. If the team captain is NOT in the lobby by the match start time, the team LOSES their ban.
  5. If a team is unable to field four (4) players 10 minutes after the match start time, then the team FORFEITS the match.
  6. There will be NO warmups. It is the responsibility of the players to be warmed up prior to the match.
  7. The referee will ask team captains to roll.
  8. The roll winner will have the option to choose to have either the pick order or the ban order. The roll loser will choose the order the roll winner does not choose.
  9. Teams will have one ban per round for the duartion of the bracket stage.
  10. Teams will have 90 seconds for bans and 120 seconds for picks.
    • If a team does not ban a map after the 90-second timer, they will lose that ban. The ban does not go to the other team.
    • If a team does not pick a map after the 120-second timer, the referee shall randomly roll for a map based on the number of maps left in the pool.
    • If a team does not have both players ready at the end of the 120-second timer after a map has been picked, the referee has the right to force start the map with an !mp start 15 command.
    • It is the team's responsibility to inform the referee of ANY technical or connectivity issues that occur during a match.
  11. If a player disconnects from the match during the first 30 seconds of a map, that map will be replayed. This can only happen once per team per match.
    • Should a disconnect occur and the map is replayed, the referee will give the team two (2) minutes to allow the disconnected player to reconnect to the lobby. Otherwise, a different team member may join instead of the disconnected player.
    • If a map is not replayed and there is no known score from the disconnected player, their score will not count for the map.
    • If a map is not replayed and there is a known score from the match lobby or other reliable means from the disconnected player, that score will be added to the team score.
  12. In the scenario that a map ends in a tie, the map shall be replayed with the original roster. Due to the limited size of the mappools, this may occur more than once per map.
  13. All maps in the mappool will have freemod enabled. NF will be enforced.
  14. Players may elect to take mods on the maps, but mods are not required to be taken.
  15. Allowed mods for the tournament will be HD, HR, EZ, and FL. EZ will have a 1.7* score multiplier. FL will have a 1.2* score multiplier.
  16. In the event that both teams are tied at match point, the last unbanned map shall be played as the tiebreaker.
