Welcome to the first iteration of Gus Cup! While not a full blown gimmick tournament, Gus Cup aims to test skills that the current tournament meta does not. While there will certainly be some "normal" maps, this will be far from a normal tournament experience. Gus Cup will emphasize testing your skill ceiling, skill floor, accuracy, technical abilities, and much more!

  1. osu!standard, ScoreV2 OR accuracy win condition (more on that later), Head to Head, 2v2 Teams of 2 (consider potential scheduling nightmares when choosing your teammate)
  2. The top 32 teams from qualifiers will make it through to the bracket stage.
  3. No staff members are allowed to participate in the tournament other than streamers, commentators, or graphics designers.
  4. The tournament is open rank, however...
  5. Teams must have at least one player with either a US flag or be able to provide proof of US residency to the hosts. Teams with two US players are allowed.
  6. Furthermore, teams CANNOT have more than one player with a BWS rank 99 and lower.
  7. BWS will be calculated using the following formula: rank^(0.9937^(badges^2))
    1. Only badges obtained after August 20th, 2020 will be counted.
  8. Visit HERE to quickly check your BWS rank and ensure your eligibility.
  9. Furthermore, because the majority of the tournament player base will be from the US, players will have the right to deny reschedule requests involving the times between 5:01 and 16:59 UTC. If you have trouble playing outside of these times, you are choosing to play at your own risk.

  1. Each week will consist of TWO POOLS! One pool has a scorev2 win condition, the other has an accuracy win condition. You will only play one of these per match (more on that in the Match Procedures section).
  2. For the sake of simplicity, for the RO32 and onward only the scorev2 mappool structure will be listed. However, there is a minor difference between the two. In the accuracy pool, one of the slots is replaced with a DTHR slot.
  1. QUALIFERS: 2 NM / 2 HR / 2 DT (scorev2) || 2 NM / 2 HR / 2 DT (accuracy win condition)
  2. RO32/RO16: 5 NM / 3 HR / 5 DT / 1 TB || BO9
  3. QF/SF: 6 NM / 4 HR / 5 DT / 1 TB || BO11
  4. F/GF: 7 NM / 5 HR / 5 DT / 1 TB || BO13
  1. All matches in a given week will be played on the same mappool. The Winners Bracket and the Losers Bracket will always be on the same mappool at any given point of the tournament.
  2. This tournament will have no Hidden mappool. Instead, for every map, exactly one player on each team must toggle Hidden on. This includes the tiebreaker.
  3. This rule does NOT APPLY to the accuracy pool. Players may turn on HD while playing the accuracy pool preferentially and without penalty.

  1. Referees will create the lobby approximately 10 minutes before the match is due to start. (GC: (Team 1) vs (Team 2))
  2. Teams have a 10 minute grace period after their scheduled match time to join the lobby. If a team fails to join the lobby within 5 minutes, then they will lose their bans. If a team fails to join the lobby within 10 minutes, their match will be considered forfeit.
  3. The referee cannot play during the match.
  1. When both players are in the lobby and ready, the referee will ask the captains to !roll.
  2. It is important to know that the winners and losers of the rolls get unique advantages in Gus Cup.
  3. The winner of the roll has two choices:
    1. Choice 1: The winner of the roll can choose to keep their bans. The ref will type "!roll 2". A '1' will result in the scorev2 pool being played, and a '2' will result in the accuracy pool being played. The winner of the roll will have first ban, banning in an ABAB order. They will also have the second pick.
    2. Choice 2: The winner of the roll can choose the pool that will be played, but in doing so, concede their bans. The loser of the roll will then ban four maps. The winner of the roll still gets the second pick.
  1. Teams will have 120 seconds for bans - should they fail to choose one within that time, they will lose their ban.
  2. Teams will have 120 seconds for picks - should they fail to choose one within that time, they will lose their pick.
  3. Once a map is picked, teams will have 120 seconds to ready up.
  4. If a team fails to have both of its players in the lobby by the end of the ready timer, they will be given an extension of 15 seconds to do so. If a team still fails to present both players by the end of the extension, the point will be automatically given to the other team.
  5. If a team is missing a player, 1v2s are allowed ONLY IF the scorev2 pool is played. If the accuracy pool is chosen to be played, the team missing a player must forfeit.
  1. In the event of a disconnection, an abort/replay may be called if it occurred within the first 30 seconds of the map. Other than that, common sense will be applied. If proof exists of the disconnected player's score (or a rough estimate of their hypothetical score if they finished the map), it will be used. If it is at all ambiguous, that player’s score will be considered zero. Assuming both teams consent, along with approval from the referee, each team is granted one replay per match.
