a locomotive that stopped being built over 20 years ago is still being used in some places? yup, that's correct! THIS, IS THE AMTRAK GE GENESIS!! THE LOCOMOTIVE THAT NEVER DIED!
locomotive's elder brothers, the fp40h and the sdp40f, had stop being used a long time ago, but the GE still lives on! (somehow..?)
BUT WHAT ABOUT THE ACTUAL LOCOMOTIVE ITSELF!! CMON SAMETDZE!! I NEED TO KNOW THIS INFORMATION YOU DUMBASS!
calm down. i will tell.. (mostly about the PD40C model, since that's the only one i know about)
the GE genesis locomotive was produced from 1992 (following the fp40h's death) and continued to be produced until 2001. other models of the GE genesis include P42DC, P32AC-DM, and the new upgraded version of the PD40C.
the GE genesis's original PD40C model can go to 103mph! (that's 166km/h!). the PD40C model produces about 4,000 hp. (horsepower, not health points you cultured swine!)
