Match Procedures
- All players and staff are expected to treat staff everyone with a high level of respect, following osu! Community rules and osu! In-game chat rules at all times. Any mistreatment or abuse in match, through Discord, or other social media platforms (this includes, but is not limited to: harassment, extreme toxicity, racism, ableism, sexism, homophobia, etc.) will result in an instant ban from this tournament series.
- Before the tournament starts, every player will be screened by the osu! Tournament Team to prevent any suspicious activities. Individual users who are unhappy with their screening outcome should consult accounts@ppy.sh via email.
- Players are required to be in the Tournament Discord server for the duration of the tournament.
- Forfeiting the tournament after being assigned a team because “you didn’t want to play anymore" or for any other non-emergency reason, will have you prohibited from entering the next iteration.
- Staff members are strictly forbidden from participating as players (this excludes staff roles such as streaming, commentating and graphic design).
Referees will be present in all matches - from Qualifiers to the Grand Final. When eliminated from the tournament, players can exceptionally join the referee team if they want. The staff team will try to cover all bracket matches with steams and commentary. - All registered players should be comforable playing during afternoon UTC+0 times (around 16:00 UTC+0). If these times do not fit you, please reconsider your participation.
Qualifier Procedures
- Qualifiers will be used to determine 128 players for the team drawing.
- The mappool will consist of 10 maps, played in order, starting from NM1 and finishing at DT2. There will only be 1 run through the pool.
- Players will have to choose a qualifier lobby at least 24 hours before the lobby start time. Players can also request an extra lobby if none of the default times suits them.
- Referees will invite all players to the qualifier lobby at least 5 minutes before the start of the lobby.
- There will be no warmup maps during qualifiers.
- In order to keep lobbies running smoothly, 90 second timers shall be used between maps for players to ready up.
- If a player disconnects during the map, they can replay it at the end of the lobby. Players can only replay one map. Disconnections are considered to be unexpected, game-breaking events out of a player’s control (keyboard/tablet/mouse malfunction, system failure, internet disconnect, etc). Offset, background dim, etc. are not considered valid reasons to call for an abort/replay as players may fix these on their own time.
- If a player fails to join their lobby 5 minutes after the scheduled time, they may choose to play the maps they missed at the end of the lobby (with the referee's permission) or reschedule to another lobby.
- After the lobby is finished, a match link will be posted in the #results channel on Discord.
Team Drawing Procedures
- For the team drawing, the Wheel of Names will be used.
- The drawing tiers (1-8) will be determined by the players' Elitebotix Duel Rating. Each tier will contain 16 players, where tier 1 represents the highest Duel Rank while tier 8 represents the lowest Duel Rank.
- Players in tier 1 will be given a team captain role by default.
- Captains will randomly receive one player from each tier. Tier 2 players will be assigned to a team first, followed by the Tier 3 and so on. The drawing of the odd tiers will start with team number 1 and go downwards, while the even ones will start with team number 16 and go upwards. Captains' tier (Tier 1) will be skipped, as the captains will be given their team number corresponding to their Elitebotix Duel Rating.
- After the draw ends, each team will have 5 days to submit a team name, team flag and to change the captain if needed. Team names and flags should follow osu! Community rules. If any team fails to submit a team name or a team flag, they will be assigned one by the tournament staff. We will not hold back in this case
.
Match Procedures
- A referee will create a lobby and invite the captains at least 5 minutes the match starts. Captains are responsible for inviting their team into the lobby.
- If a team fails to join the match 10 minutes from the scheduled match time, they will lose the match by default.
- At the start of the match, each team will have one warmup available, which can also be skipped. Warmups shoulds be under 4 minutes in total length and have SFW music, lyrics and slider shapes (I can't believe I have to say that).
- Double picking and double banning is not allowed, except for No-Mod maps. Additionally, there should always remain at least one map per mod category in the pool.
- Captains will roll for picks and bans. The winner of the roll will ban first and pick second. The loser will ban second and pick first.
- Order for bans and picks will be A-B-A-B.
- Teams will have 90 seconds for bans. If they fail to ban a map within that time, they will lose their ban. If a team wants to intentionally skip their ban, they should let the referee know.
- Teams will also have 90 seconds for picks. If they fail to pick a map within that time, the pick will go to the other team, giving the opposite team 3 picks in a row.
- Once a map is picked, teams will have 90 seconds to swap teammates and ready up. Once the timer is finished or when everyone is ready, the referee will start the map with the 10 seconds countdown.
- Tiebreakers are played with Freemod enabled, however, they do not require players to use a mod (except No-Fail).
- After the lobby is finished, a match link will be posted in the #results channel on Discord.
In an event of a disconnection, an abort/replay may be called if it occurred within the first 30 seconds of the map. Each team is granted one replay per match. Any disconnections after the first will result in the player's score counting as 0, unless the player has proof of their submitted score on the map. - Throughout the tournament, referees will be trusted to make reasonable decisions on a case by case basis as each situation presents itself. If something is not stated in the rules, the referee will be allowed to make judgement based on common sense and valid reasoning using logic and/or evidence.
- Round of 16 and Quarterfinals will be BO9, Semifinals and Finals BO11, Grand Finals BO13
- Each team will have 1 ban available in Round of 16 + Quarterfinals and 2 bans in the later stages.
- There will be a bracket reset in the Grand Final if needed.
