You can't use image from your files, the image have to be hosted somewhere on the internet as a jpg file (or any other supported file type for the [img] bbcode). To put your image on the internet you can just upload them to imgur.

you go to this page and upload your image there, after uploading, you copy the link of the image by making right click to it and choosing copy image's link.

You can't put local files in osu! so they need to be somewhere in Internet.
For a image, you can upload it into imgur or zupimages.
For a other file, use a place who can stock your files (google drive, mediafire, mega, ...). Then they give a link to find your file.

you have to upload to some services like imgur and then copy the image url

Let's say you use imgur you have to do this

  1. Go to imgur.com
  2. Click "Choose a photo" or Drag the image directly into that window
  3. <- click the three dots
  4. Select "Get Share Links" and then copy the BBCode (Forums) and you'll have the full code to put the uploaded image onto your signature
this is an example for imgur, the thing you have to do change from service to service but usually yeah you have the copy the image url.

Hope this helps you :)
